I am a string specialist. That means I teach and play violin, viola, cello, double bass, guitar, bass guitar, mandolin, ukulele and piano. I earned B.A. earned from the University of Northern Colorado, Greeley Colorado where I was a double major in classical guitar and double bass. In my senior year I was the recipient of the Annual Concerto Contest where I performed the "Concerto in A Major" on double bass with the University orchestra for the spring concert. I have played in both professional and semi-professional orchestras in Colorado and Arizona. I believe that any student will practice more if he or she likes the music they are playing. Periodically I will ask a student to give me a name of a piece of music that they would like to learn how to play. I notate it for them, often simplifying the rhythm and chords in Finale NotePad and give it to them free of charge. I teach students how to play music on their given instrument. Not just how to play the instrument but working on ...

Mr. Victor is teaching both of my kids, one guitar and the other piano. They are beginners, and he is very patient but keeps a good pace. I feel like they are learning a lot. He is a true music teacher and knows his stuff!

I just had my first upright bass lesson with Charles. Playing an instrument, when you know how, is one of the most fun things you can do, But getting lessons can be stressful. This was relaxing, pleasant and fun. Stress free. And I learned a lot. I can't wait to get back on that bass and practice this stuff.

I've been taking on-line lessons from Mitchell for the last few months. He's helped me to steadily progress. Mitchell is a highly experienced working bass player and he has a strong sense of exactly what I need to work on next in order to more fully develop my skills. I highly recommend him especially if you are interested in learning to play jazz, walk your bass and improvise. He knows the way.

This was my second lesson. Mitchell has made thoughtful and practical suggestions to improve my playing and he seems to know exactly where we're headed. Great lesson.
Steve
Mitchell is a fantastic teacher. I selected him because he is a pure bass teacher and not a generalist just teaching bass. I am so glad I did. I am an adult student having tried to teach myself and I can say for sure that after 5 lessons, Mitchell has set me straight and I am learning more than ever. He is enthusiastic and also makes the lessons fun. I have also signed my son up for bass lessons with Mitchell. Give it a try - Mitchell is awesome!

Abbey is the real deal. She is the musician’s musician, the teacher’s teacher. As an instructor, she brings enthusiasm, patience, and thoughtfulness to every lesson. Coming into her tutorage as an intermediate level student, she has pushed and inspired me to be a more thoughtful performer and composer. Abbey draws from her deep well of theory and technique to create very practical exercises to fit one’s individual needs. I highly recommend her instruction for students of any level.
Andrew
Abbey is a great musician and she's everything you could want in a music teacher: inspiring, patient, thorough, and absolutely aware of just who she's teaching and what and how that student needs to learn. She's the best.
John
I highly recommend Abbey to the serious bass player. Highly qualified with a Master's Degree, and with a natural talent for teaching, Abbey is one of the best teachers I've ever seen and motivates me to do my best. Always making sure you understand what's being taught and tailoring the lessons to your individual needs and aspirations. Abbey can find problems even you might not be aware of and helps work out a solution.

My lessons are specific to every student, specializing in bringing out the strengths of each individual student. I will talk with the students and gain an idea of their musical goals when approaching the bass and give them a roadmap to best ensure their success and skill development.

I am familiar with a wide range of beginners repertoire to give students something to work towards. I encourage my musicians to step out of their comfort zone with their playing to stretch their abilities while emphasizing a strong work ethic and personal responsibility, which will lead to a life long success in learning environments.

Hello! I provide informative lessons for beginners and intermediate players for all ages. I have been studying the bass for 8 years. I specialize in classical playing. I have a passion for not only playing, but teaching the bass! While I only teach classical bass, I love all genres of music!

"Hannah has a rare ability to combine an incredible warmth with a wealth of exercises for improvement. The exercises were truly specifically directed toward the student. In my son’s case, he said this first lesson was also the first time he felt emotionally connected to the upright bass the same was he has in the past with piano and voice. He’s truly an emotionally connected person when it comes to music, yet he’s also a very quick thinker and Hannah could tell when he was able to hold multiple ideas at once. She also acknowledged his joy when it did come. There was a lot of technical knowledge he needed that were holes in instruction and Hannah sussed them out and somehow knew - even though the lesson was online - she knew his cues where it was time to move on or switch things up, or perhaps to add something. I cannot wait to hear the improved sound coming from my son’s right hand technique, now possessing depth and lovely tone that I knew he had in him, but knew also he needed the right instructor to draw out. We are so grateful Hannah is now in our lives in the role of a teacher and hopefully will become a mentor and another adult to look toward for balancing the discipline and enthusiasm music can bring to human beings."
