My specialty is voice training. Vocal coaching can only present a positive effect on the voice. Many people who sing have a natural talent but with enough wear and tear on the vocal chords, it can be damaged also. Certain damages come in the form of nodule (pronounced nodes) or polyps, these are puss inflamed irritations that develop due to misuse of the voice caused by screaming, singing strictly from the chest without the use of head tones, just to mention a few.
Piano is one of the best percussion instrument learned by the vocalist. Its clarity of tonality helps to correct aural sound non-comprehension.

About LaTishia

LaTishia has 19 years of experience in the field of management in entertainment, program coordinating and vocal/piano coaching. I have studied this style of singing for over 20 years and I have taught Broadway and Musical singing as well as how to safely Belt for over 10 years. The technique is still from a classical background so all my students learn a variety of tools that will help them with this style as well as others. In all of my singing classes students learn technique, music theory, sight signing, and aural skills. They will also learn musicality and how to emotionally connect with their music.

About Kimberly

I grew up in a household of 9 where music was always center stage. We would sing as a family in different venues and were often called the VonTrapp family. I have been working with Kim for a few weeks and I have learned a tremendous amount and can hear the difference every week as I progress. I enjoy the process she applies to keep it positive and fun yet learn the proper fundamentals required to perform well. I actually tried a few vocal teachers and Kim with her wisdom and experience made it simple who to go with!!

Ensures one has a strong foundation of violin knowledge. Patient and kind. Love this instructor!

Kim can teach you or your child, no matter where you are!

I was 30 when I decided to rekindle my love for the violin. I hadn’t played since before YouTube was invented, and I was skeptical about learning violin online. By the first lesson, Kim had already corrected poor habits I didn’t know I had, just after hearing me play a few scales. She adjusted her teaching style to my personality so seamlessly that I felt I was just getting pointers from a dear violinist friend whose advice is always spot-on. Weekly practice never felt like work, because Kim tailored my assignments to my goals. Before I knew it, I was playing complex concertos I could never do in high school. I started out being able to play just one major scale. Within 10 months, I was in Suzuki Book 4!
I can’t say enough about Kim’s expert teaching skills. During a sight-reading of a very difficult piece, I became so frustrated that I wanted to stop the lesson and try again later. Kim encouraged me until I had gotten all the way through, and pointed out what I could learn from my performance. When I had time to calm down, I realized that Kim can do this for any student; adults, children, and adults whose inner child throws a tantrum when they’re frustrated by a musical challenge. :-)

Teachers like Kim are rare, and worth their weight in gold. I learned so much more than violin fundamentals through my lessons with her. I’m convinced Kim can teach anyone, of any age—even through an online platform.

She started me on basics such as breath control, support, and learning to sing as easily as possible. She was very attentive to my goals, in this case it was to learn as well as get ready for an audition for a local musical. I've had a great experience working with her an would recommend her highly. "I cannot say enough to recommend Paige. She knows the mechanics of singing down to the minutia, but that is really not the best part. She has a way of making you want to work hard and it just seems like fun. I sang in a choir as a kid. I had ideas on how to sing. She quickly got me to show myself why my singing style was not as productive. I have learned a ton from her and always learn more. I have a great time when she is working with me."

I have never felt so confident as a singer, and though I still have a little bit to go before Broadway, I highly recommend her to anyone interested in rapidly developing or fine tuning their singing voice.
