She was very thorough..plus her style of teaching will definitely benefit me in the long run!!

Jeanmarie helped me to learn the proper way to hold the cello and the bow. She watched carefully to be sure I maintained that throughout the lesson. I am pleased that she is going to be sure I learn to play the cello well to prevent injuries. She also gave me some very basic bowing and finger exercises to practice this first week so I begin to build correct muscle memory before I go on to working with sheet music.

Let’s make music! Over 10 years teaching experience in many genres. From the first lesson, my focus is musicality and expression. I teach using technique and repertoire in a way to help my students gain the skills to fully express themselves in music. I have the ability to teach both the traditional path of classical training as well as a customizable program to meet the needs and requests of a diverse musical society. Whether your goals are performance, theory knowledge, or composition, I look forward to helping you achieve them!

About Clark

I am a current graduate student at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, where I am pursuing two independent degrees in Cello Performance and in Music Composition. My Bachelor’s Degree is in Cello Performance, and I have travelled the world with my cello. I have studied and performed across the

Clark is the best teacher I have ever had! He’s so patient with me and has made the transition from in person to online lessons so easy. I would highly recommend him for any of your music needs. He is very knowledgeable about all of the subjects he teaches and he is able to explain everything in many ways so that I can understand. You can’t find a better teacher.
Hannah
Wow! I have never enjoyed playing the piano more than I have taking lessons from Clark. He has helped me a lot with the technical aspects of playing but has always helped me to understand how an emotional connection to the music is important as well. I’ve improved by 3 books within a short time period because of his patience. He also takes notes during our lessons and sends me a copy of them so that I can review while I practice. I have recommended his teaching to several of my friends and he is going to start teaching my nephew soon. Great teacher! And makes learning an instrument a great experience!
Juliet
My kids have been taking from C. Evans for almost three years. Not only has their musicianship improved, so has their confidence! He has been able to directly improve my kid’s musical experiences and helped them with auditions for school amongst other things. He encourages them while providing high class teaching. My kid’s never leave their lessons discouraged or bored but always ready to learn more music and excited for the next lesson. He is very communicative and will always work with your schedule and inevitable conflicts. I HIGHLY recommend him for piano/cello/music theory lessons.

My goal as a teacher is to help you reach your musical goals! My lessons consist of scales, duets, and solo repertoire. Each lesson is different depending on the student I am working with, but the core of my teach is based around these 3 areas.

About Victor

My name is Victor and I have been actively teaching cello for the past 7 years. In Ames, IA I had a studio of 8 students, all ranging from different age groups and abilities. I also have experience teaching online lessons, which require a slightly different approach than in person lessons. I recent

Victor is a wonderful teacher. He’s very patient and focuses a lot on the important fundamentals. I’m an adult student and he was very encouraging and helpful.

As a 40 year old beginner I was a little nervous about the whole online experience as well as starting a new instrument. Victor makes the online teaching experience seamless. Victor is calm, thoughtful and patient. He always finds a way to explain something in a way that relates to me specifically. To do this someone must be able to listen as well as teach. This is quality I have not found in all of my teachers/instructors/coaches throught the years. Victor is also easily the most flexible of any teacher I have had. He always finds a way to accommodate my schedule and works around any issues that arise. I have really enjoyed my learning experience thus far and look forward to each lesson. I would not hesitate to recommend Victor to anyone looking to learn the cello.

Kyle is a great piano teacher! He is very patient with my 12-year old son. He’s always punctual and respectful of our family and home. I’m grateful to have found him!

The lesson I took with him was packed full of superb teaching points; such as bowing exercises to help with bowing complexities, helpful fingerings for awkward passages within a composition of music, and terrific rhythmical suggestions to help with complex rhythms in a passage of music. "I was a pianist and oboist in my early life, and now in my 40s decided that I'd love to learn to play the cello. Victor is a really wonderful teacher. He's very patient, very calm, and very responsive. Whenever I would message him, he'd respond within a few hours, and often he'd respond right away. He was very flexible when schedules changed. Whenever I would run into problems or issues with a new technique, he would find resources, such as videos, to help describe it more fully. I've had many music teachers over the years and Victor is absolutely one of the best."

Is Cello Hard to Learn? Read THIS Before Taking Lessons

Many beginning musicians wonder, “Is cello hard to learn?” The process of learning the cello is not difficult, but it’s important to keep in mind that the cello is not an instrument of instant gratification. It does require focused, daily practice time and a good teacher to guide you along the way. How far you progress with cello is a direct result of the amount of quality time you put into practicing the instrument. Even someone who puts in just 30 minutes a day will notice a signi …
