So far so good. Very patient as mistakes after mistake was made. Corrected quite a few mistakes I was making so that my habits would be good habits from the start. Let me talk to myself as I messed up and complimented me when I was on the right track.

complete novice; adult student. First lesson very relaxed. Excellent blend through-out lesson of questions and information my goals and background as well as instructor's goals for me and his background. First "technical" part of lesson was manageable and care taken by Lyle to make sure I understood what was being presented. I left the first lesson feeling this would be a good fit between instructor and student

My first lesson with Ben was great. He got straight to what I was interested in learning and even helped me figure out the chords to a song I've been wanting to play. Can't wait to learn more :)

Awesome teacher! Not just a great drummer, but patient and articulate. He was really able to help me understand and execute in ways I never could before. Seems like he would also be great with kids...super patient and encouraging!

David is a very skilled drummer and a very enthusiastic teacher. In lessons, he seems to like to split time between practicing rudiments and learning to play different rhythms on the set. He is also exceptionally patient and supportive with my 9-year-old, highly distractible daughter. David is very positive, pointing out things that are going well and interesting rhythms that they discover. I am really glad we found David--he is an excellent teacher and I love watching my daughter learn so much about music!

So you want to develop your musical ear through training! Great! I'd love to help you!

I've been singing professionally at Walt Disney World for over 22 years (and still singing there). It is (and has been) a dream job. I sing with The Voices of Liberty at Epcot and The Dapper Dans of Main Street at The Magic Kingdom.

Also, I have a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education from Penn State with an emphasis in Voice.

I want to help your musical ear become strong and independent. You'll learn how to sight-read (sight-sing) with ease. Let's get started!

About Kevin

Hello! My name is Kevin, and I am looking forward to teaching you everything I know about music! I've been singing at Walt Disney World for over 23 years (and I still am currently) with the Voices of Liberty, the Dapper Dans of Main Street, and Four For A Dollar. I have a Bachelor of Science in Music Education from Penn State University. Even more than singing, playing the guitar, arranging for a cappella, and playing piano, I love to teach! Ever since I was a sophomore in high school, I've wanted to be a teacher of music in various capacities. My favorite aspect of teaching several private students each week is that every individual student has a different story: What is it that you want to accomplish? Would you like to sing, play piano, or play guitar? Would you like training in music theory? Do you want to eventually have a career in m

usic? Will this be a hobby for you? Whatever your goals are, I am excited to know your story.

I have been playing music by ear since I was about 13yrs old. I would put on the "Today's Hits" Pandora radio station and listen to all of the pop songs and learn them by ear, sometimes doing that for 8hrs a day. As my ear grew stronger, so did my playing. Now I am learning the hardest jazz solos by ear and I can show you my method of ear training. We'll go through hearing melodies, harmonies (chords), and common rhythms found in music.

About Patrick

I have been playing music for 14 years and performed in prestigious venues such as the Kennedy Center, Carnegie Hall, and the Strathmore Mansion. I grew up classically trained then learned to play in a variety of genres such as Jazz, R&B/Soul, Pop, Blues, Funk, and more. I also play the violin, guitar, ukulele, and I sing while writing/producing my own music. I will be attending the prestigious Berklee College of Music under a scholarship to study Music Production/Engineering and continue to excel in piano.

Private Ear Training Teacher

Ear training is the study of understanding exactly what it is you're hearing. This is an essential skill for all musicians. I have extensive experience in teaching and tutoring ear training at all levels.

It might sound strange, but most people listen to music without knowing what's going on. They don't know the melodies, the rhythms, or the chords. Hearing these and understanding them is transformative to the experience of listening to music.

Students begin by learning to hear interval, the distances between notes relative to each other. Rhythm, melody, chord quality and chord progression round out the basic program.

Skill in ear training is developed by listening, playing, singing, and writing down what you hear.

About Brendan

I excel at the process of teaching and guiding students to get results. I know how to relate to students in different ways to help them understand problems and find solutions. I understand how frustrating and mentally exhausting practicing can be, and I know what to teach and when to teach it. I also understand that every student fits music into their life in a different way.

When studying with me a student can expect to be shown best practices in technique and musicianship, patient answers to questions, and to have time to absorb new information. Students will never be condescended to or belittled. Music is about adding joy to your life, and I can help.

I have studied nearly every style of music from medieval chant to Indian classical music. For over twenty years I have taught students in guitar, songwriting, classical composition,

music theory, and applied musicianship at all levels from beginners to graduate courses and students.

Terry
"Chris is an awesome teacher! I have been taking lessons with Chris for a few months. I had spent quite an extended period studying with other instructors
but Chris is still helping develop me to a better musician and guitar player. Have been working on some ear training stuff that other instructors maybe would not have taken the time to work with me on! Working on hearing and playing the divided sky by phish right now not an easy piece of music. Also working on more phrasing and country blues licks and theory. I would definitely recommend Chris to anyone👍🎸"

"Omer has been an excellent teacher! I’ve over heard several lessons with him and my son and I’m always impressed by the breath of knowledge he has. In ju
st a few weeks my son has been inspired to play the piano for hours at a time. Originally Omer was going to teach my son violin but they switched to piano so that they could explore their common interest in composing music for film. I am immensely pleased with him and recommend him wholeheartedly!"

"He was very helpful with so much patience.
Also he has his own material which he’d been teaching 20 years experience in Berklee, NEC, MI, CSCM,, etc.
So
I could trust him and he had very deep thought and clear about what he teach.
We had some conversations while the private lesson was going on... lots of story that he told me was amazing and unbelievable. Not only The theory and the knowledge that you would get from him, also whole lot of different variety of infusions he will provide and it will help you improve as a musicIan and as an artist.
Thank you Carlos!!"
