About Grady T.
My personal philosophy of music is to explore and learn as much from my students as I can teach them. For me teaching is like going on an adventure to find something together. I've been able to play all over the world and tour with many different musicians and the thing that made the core of every great performance was the human interaction and communication. For me music is about being more human. This is something I just as much try to impart and teach in my lessons as theory and technique. (On a side note I can travel farther than 13 miles as long as it's in the boroughs of Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens or the Bronx).Show More

Smart, enthusiastic, patient. I'm an older adult who has some basic piano ability (very basic), and within moments Grady evaluated and then clicked in with my needs. I suspect he would be perfect for children also.
Grady is the most energetic, caring, and fun piano instructor I ever encountered. He is very patient and goes over the basics when needed. As a adult learner, Grady not only meets you where you're at but takes his time to go over any issues you may have. I highly recommend Grady !!!Show More
Grady is very patient. He has a very good sense of humor. Takes his time in explaining why notes are the way they are, especially when you get stuck. Highly recommend Grady to any piano beginner, intermediate and advanced
Grady is very patient and professional. He encouraged me a lot and made you feel comfortable to learn as an adult starter.
Grady is teaching me and my girlfriend piano. Has been an amazing experience thus far, and he is fantastic at teaching all "types" of students. I am more of a "play by ear, who cares about reading music" kind of guy, and my girlfriend wants to learn exactly "by the book", and Grady has been able to take a unique approach to both of our lessons. Highly recommended!!Show More
Grady is the best! He is such a kind, patient, empatheic, and superb musician!
Friendly and nice instructor
My daughter started piano lessons a little over 3 weeks ago, and she already looks forward to her weekly sessions with Grady. She's excited to tell me what new note she learned, or what songs she need to practice at home.
This is my daughter's 3rd lesson with Grady, and she is overjoyed. Already looking forward to her next lesson.
Grady was wonderful with our 6 year old son! Very patient and skilled at teaching notes. Kept our son engaged! Gave good recommendations for piano books to use.
Grady is very patient and friendly. He makes you feel comfortable to get past the nervousness of learning something as an adult.
Grady is totally fun and made me feel very comfortable. He listened to what kind of songs I want to learn. Grady is the best teacher I have ever had! I can’t wait to have another lesson with him!

It was entertaining and helpful lecture. I love Grady's class. He is such a good teacher!
Dynamic, fun, organized teacher. My son is learning a lot and loves it! Thanks, Grady!
It is such a joy to take lessons with Grady, he has such positive vibes and he is a perfect fit for our family. His lessons are never one dimensional and we love every minute.
He has a genuine passion for the piano and music theory and it resonates during each lesson whether it is for our child or for our adult lesson. We love Grady!
Grady is so patient with my nearly nine-year-old. Ella really enjoys playing and practicing, even if it is just for a little while. She eagerly anticipates her lessons with Grady and seems to have a fun time. As, she's only started less than two months ago, this is the most interest I've seen her have in anything ongoing. I'm thinking that her first experience with an instrument with Grady will likely lead to a lifetime enjoyment of playing.Show More
