My students will have the opportunity to learn music theory and perform their favorite songs from any genre in my lessons. Throughout my 27 years of playing the guitar and 17 years of teaching it, I have learned that patience and practice are what defines a great guitarist. During my lessons, the student will not be rushed, and they will not feel uncomfortable nor nervous in my setting. Overall, their time will be used effectively when they are with me. Understanding is one aspect, but practice completes the process. A student has to practice at home as well. They will be provided practice sheets or online exercises to help them achieve that effectively.

I had a great experience because Catherine is an amazing instructor.
She taught lessons with a high degree of professionalism and care. As a novice, I was able to learn a lot because Catherine was patient and attentive to my learning style.

My two oldest children (one more advanced in piano than the other) began taking lessons with Catherine just this year. They have both shown significant improvement and love her as an instructor. They also look forward to practicing in between lessons. We could not be happier.

I like to show my students how the guitar can be a small orchestra. The possibilities of sounds and colors that it can provide is unknown to other instruments and that is what makes it so great. Unlike the piano where a small hammer hits the strings or the violin where the bow frictions them, we have to produce the entire sound on the guitar with our own hands. The process is more personal and, even though it can be harsh at times, it is always satisfying. I also try to bring a more creative part of music when studying the instrument, which keeps classes more dynamic and interesting. I bring my own experiences so that the students can relate in different levels of difficulty.

About Hugo

I'm a professional guitarist, composer and arranger. I graduated from Berklee College of Music with a Diploma in Professional Music. I started playing electric guitar and then expanded also to the classical guitar, which has broaden extensively my approach to different styles of music. Each styl

Hugo is a very patient teacher and has a lot of musical knowledge to pass along. I went to my first lesson with him without knowing anything about music or the guitar and now I already feel some confidence talking about the subject. He gradually deepens the subject and always makes sure you understood before going forward. I super recommend him!

Hugo is one of a kind. Great teacher and an amazing human being! Took lessons with him back in Boston while he was still studying at the prestigious Berklee College of Music and it couldn't have been better. Improved my repertoire and my technique meanly when it comes to fingerstyle. Highly recommended!

I'm looking for students who are interested in learning classical/Spanish guitar and developing in them the same passion I have for the guitar and music. I studied guitar at Univ. of Texas and have been playing and teaching professionally for over 40 years. My goal in teaching beginners is to help you find your own style and to insure that you are familiar with the fundamentals of technique and theory.

For the more advanced student I'm looking for dedicated students who are interested in honing their skills and working on whatever particular piece of music they might be interested in learning and performing.

About Michael

I have over 30 years experience teaching, performing and recording classical and Spanish guitar. I offer my students a systematic approach for gradual musical and technical development toward mastery of the guitar. "I've had a great experience as Eric's student. He is highly knowledgeable as a guitar teacher and I have loved learning classical technique from him. And I'm kind of picky, since I already have a degree in music and am also a music teacher! He has really helped me broaden my skills as a guitarist and I can highly recommend him as a teacher for all kinds of guitar styles."

"Classical guitar lessons with David

Off and on since my 20s I've fooled around with guitar lessons but never lasted very long. I am 62 now. I relayed this to David and he laid out an organized plan for systematic improvement. But he was very honest with me about the importance of good practice habits. I've been with him almost 5 months and showing progress. His enthusiasm and patience is appreciated. Thanks, Dave."

"As a child about 5 Years hè already played Quarta a kind of ukelele. As a child I already was in love with music. We bechame friends and I learned a lot from him, that still is the basic for my music. As a child about nine years old hè already played beautiful Classic guitar music from Bach, Tarega, Alirio Diaz, bossa novas, Curacao music waltz ect. His father was also a great musicien. I always could listen for hours when hè played guitar and later also the organ! I'm so blessed that I had the oppurtunity to listen so much during my young years when hè played. Because of HIM I came in contact with classical music. In those days we didn't hear much on our little Island Curacao. For always I Will be grateful to HIM and his father Shon Toni! Thank you my dear friend for opening one of the most precious door in life for me and .....That's MUSIC!!!! THANKS"

"Jason is a remarkable teacher! He truly has been able to break through a mental block I've always had regarding thinking in chords rather than just reading notes. His desire to help the student reach a personal goal is so evident. Jason remained so confident that a 'light bulb' would come on that I started to believe it myself. He has put me on a good path now and did it with his confidence in me and by providing the right tools. Thank you for your patience, confidence in me, and your calm, pleasant way of teaching, Jason."
