Kept missing class without any heads up so I had to just wait around and hope he'll show up, ignored my calls and messages to reschedule, so I had to just get a refund from TakeLessons. As a teacher he is good, but very unprofessional behavior in terms of accountability and respect for students' time.

Fingerstyle, Chords, Advanced Theory, Getting it Under Your Fingers Fast. Songwriting, and recording. I also teach Guitar Repair, Setup and Maintenance.

About James
New 6 Month and One Year Courses Taught: 1. Radio Introduction Personality Broadcasting. 2. Guitar Studies Advanced 3. Music Industry 4. Advanced Composition 5. Sound Design 6. Abelton LIVE 7. Premix Setup and Post Production
8. PR and Promotions Business
Background:
I worked for Eddie Van Halen for five years in the 1990's in the Beverly Hills area of Los Angeles and was instrumental in providing help with development of the Peavey Wolfgang and Wolfgang Special Guitar by providing feedback on the prototypes Eddie was designing at the time. I learned a lot from Eddie and his brother Alex about music and the music industry. (All you have to do is pay attention! ) I have played in bands from Hollywood to Toronto and back both as a singer songwriter and guitarist. I bring the Musicians Institute way to the table and get things up and ru
nning quickly. I help students get it under their fingers fast and get it right the first time.

I believe in sharing the happiness of making music with anyone who loves music and the guitar in particular. I do my very best to get you playing the songs you love in Pop, Rock, Jazz and Folk Music of your choice. Today's modern new guitars are easy to play and you will enjoy learning Guitar right away. That is how it should be.
When you study there is a basic understanding of Guitar to be learned that allows an ease of use for anyone for years to come. This will help you reach your goal and improve each week. My students learn to practice in a way that feels comfortable and makes sense. This takes all the stress out of learning and gives everyone something to smile about and look forward to each week.

The good feeling of playing along with friends and taking a solo is within every students grasp. I will show you the way there. And with a solid and straightforward approach to the theory as it applies directly to the guitar you will feel confident and unafraid of any music endeavor. We'll cover harmony and fingerboard theory and give you a road map of the guitar neck that makes it a pleasure to play. You learn the basics and much more than you thought possible retaining 90 percent of what you learn!

Having been a student myself I was deeply involved in music since age 12 and played in bands and duos for over 15 years . I can help you to be a well rounded player and performer with a smile, a laugh and a joy for music whether your in a band or a budding solo artist.

*** Lesson Details ***
Most students want to play the Guitar to play their favorite songs and I'm the same way. Music is something we carry with us in our hearts and minds. Students will learn what they wish to learn and work at a pace that is comfortable to them. Whether you are a student, “weekend warrior” or a parent whose child has expressed an interest in Guitar anyone can learn all there is to know about Harmony and Theory for the Guitar and how to play their favorite songs.

We cover theory in an easy and straightforward no nonsense way in the first half of each lesson and then apply it to the song you wish to learn. This creates an atmosphere where you understand and feel at home with the Guitar. You get an understanding right away and because it is immediately fun it allows you to feel comfortable at any level. Music is fun, and songs are the creative expression of what we feel. Combining theory and the freedom to play and sing songs allows us to express ourselves through music.
After 6 months students will have a solid foundation in theory, and a road map of the guitar fretboard enabling them to advance to an intermediate level if they are ready to do so. Students will know enough that music as it relates to the Guitar, which is the world’s most popular instrument in contemporary music, is not a mystery but is a welcome friend. And they will be able to play songs by popular artists and advance at a pace that is satisfying and enjoyable.

Caleb has taught me so much in only five lessons! I now can play 4 songs that I love, and I'm getting a great refresher course on music theory. He's super patient and sets very realistic expectations. I really like that he cared to ask me what songs I liked and would like to learn instead of starting with generic songs like 'twinkle twinkle' because it gave me more motivation to practice and learn. I can't wait to learn more!

I am currently only accepting students taking lessons every week. I will help you learn how to make beautiful music with your acoustic guitar! I focus on proper technique and will have you playing your first song by the end of your first lesson.

About Annie
Annie brings a unique set of experiences to every musical venture she embarks on. She is a classically trained vocalist who traveled the country and the world with the renowned Millikin University Choir during her undergraduate studies. Annie graduated with a degree in Commercial music, and spent her time outside of University Choir singing in jazz and contemporary ensembles, working and performing in the recording studio, and practicing songwriting. After graduation, she moved to Nashville, where she resides today, writing and performing original country music under the stage name Annie Kennedy. All of these experiences make her a well rounded and versatile performer and teacher. I am passionate about seeing students grow. I strive to be energetic yet patient when teaching to create a comfortable dynamic in my lessons that encourages excitement about music.
I have been playing guitar for 9 years, and have performed professionally with groups playing styles ranging from jazz, country, rock, blues, funk, and even musical theatre. I am capable of teaching beginners as well as intermediate students.
My lessons encourage a strong knowledge of fundamentals, so that a student can continue to develop years down the road with their acquired understanding of music, but I also am also careful to tailor lesson material according to a student's interests, personality, and natural learning methods.

About Chris
My goal is to get students to think for themselves on their instruments. Whether the student is a child or an adult, I strive to develop musicians that can become lifelong learners with a love and knowledge of music as opposed to people who only know a few cool riffs on their instrument.
I achieve this by 1) individualizing lesson plans so that each student stays engaged and learns in the style that is best for them as learners 2) ensure that students learn BOTH how to play their instrument as well as the theory behind what they are playing. This creates a more well-rounded musician that is capable of problem solving on their instrument and being able to play in a variety of settings.
I have been playing music for over 10 years and teaching private lessons since 2014. My professional performance experience includes solo guitar g
igs, rock band shows, musical theatre pit work, dance band playing, plus various gigs in Nashville, around the Eastern United States, and even in Scotland!
I graduated from Belmont University in the Spring of 2018 with a degree in Commercial Music, so I have had the "conservatory training" in regards to theory, and music history, but before college I was largely a self taught player and am now a professionally performing musician here in Nashville. My primary goal with any student will be first to help a student achieve their goals, but ultimately to teach each student to think for themselves on their instruments so that they can go on learning for the rest of their lives.

I want to work closely with students to help them develop their own unique pace, methods, and goals that work for them. We’ll work together to not just master their craft, but also find their voice and enjoyment with their instrument.

My goal is to discover what a student wants to learn and their strengths and weaknesses and then cater lessons accordingly.

About Christopher
Flexible teacher combining technical knowledge of classical, jazz, and pop/rock theory, sense of humor, and passion for helping students not just master their craft, but also find their unique voice and enjoyment with their instrument.

I have over 4 years of experience teaching lessons, including teaching seminars on songwriting and music business at Infinity Visual and Performing Arts and Jamestown Community College.

Between 2006 and 2015, I played over 1,000 shows, both solo and as an auxiliary musician for other touring acts. I performed on over 30 albums and have composed for radio, television, and internet video series. I've been featured in The New York Times, on the CBS Evening News, and on NPR.

I've been happily teaching lessons to students of all ages for 4 years, and I'm so excited to continue that journey with you. My style of teaching is all about YOU and what you'd like to get out of it. I will help you build a great foundation of musical knowledge based on your personal music taste and your goals. Contact me today, let's get started!

About Carrie
Carrie Schneider is a multi-instrumentalist singer-songwriter living in Nashville, TN by way of Minnesota. As a lover of all genres of music, her wildly unique style spans from classic and elegant Americana, to dark and thoughtful electronic-dream-pop.
Carrie got her start in the music industry as an intern for Rockhouse Studios in Saint Joseph, MN, under the guidance of sound engineer Jeff Engholm. It was there she harvested her love for audio production and sound engineering while working with and observing industry professionals like Nicholas David (of The Voice), Bobby Vee, Teague Alexy (Hobo Nephews Of Uncle Frank), Collective Unconscious, and The Vees.
In 2006, Schneider moved to Chicago to join the band Lindbergh, during that time she toured the country and played extensively at some of Chicago’s premier venues. In 2009 she moved b
ack to her home in Minnesota where she worked as a performer, producer, songwriter, and teacher. Now newly transplanted to Nashville, she works as a singer-songwriter and music instructor. One of the most important things she has learned throughout her musical adventures and experiences is to treat your craft with respect. Harvest your talents by feeding them passion, creativity, tremendous effort.
As a teacher, Schneider loves to connect with people of all ages through music. She believes anything is possible with hard work, patience, and a smile, and she loves to break the rules and get creative once in a while – however, “In order to break the rules, we must learn them first.”
