About Jonathan
When I turned 8 years old, I began piano lessons. I started violin
at 9 and trombone at 10. After studying numerous instruments I am now proficient on the piano, electric/acoustic bass, and guitar. Having completed my tour of duty in the U.S. Army, I am currently on the Dean's list as a music/audio production major, and plan to continue my music education until I earn at least a masters in performance and composition. I started my teaching career at Milestones in Music, a local studio, as an independent contractor, and was able to gain valuable experience, and through my membership in the National Association for Music Education(NAfME) I was able to fine tune my curriculum. I am a former student member of the Grammy U Recording Academy, and have had opportunities to
award in music, the Grammy). I am the band leader at my church Montco Bible Fellowship. I have experience as an audio tech in the studio and for a live stage, and have consulted for organizations looking to setup a sound system/studio. I enjoy recording my own music in my home studio, and learning to play new instruments. I hope to pass my love for music to the next generation!
*** Lesson Details ***
I am a very laid back instructor... as you will find out! I understand that not everyone learns at the same rate; however, I am a perfectionist and don't allow students to advance until they have learned a particular skill. I would rather a student take forever to learn a song, and practice it with good technique, than be able to play it right away with poor form and posture! I reinforce the value of working toward goals and celebrate with students when they reach them. I understand that every student has different interests and reasons for wanting to learn an instrument... I try to focus on the areas that are of interest to the student, because a student who is enjoying themself will excel. This does not mean that the subjects and skills that are not of interest will not be taught, because I also believe in being a well-rounded musician. I teach both jazz (theory/improvisation) and classical (composed) music.
*** Studio Equipment ***
My studio is currently not optimal for teaching... I hope to change this soon!!
*** Travel Equipment ***
I provide lesson books and other learning materials, but expect to be reimbursed. I expect the student to have their own instrument/equipment. Piano students are required to have a piano or a keyboard with 88 weighted keys (hammer-action), a piano bench and a pedal. Guitar/bass students must have an acoustic/electric guitar/bass with a strap or footstool, pick, and cable and amplifier if applicable! Digital audio students must have their own computer, Digital Audio workstation (software), digital audio interface, speakers/headphones and midi controller. ALL STUDENTS MUST PROVIDE A NOTEBOOK (college rule or staff)!!
*** Specialties ***
I specialize in classical and jazz piano! I am more than proficient at most production software including: reason, fl studio, ableton live... and other editing software such as sony sound forge, audacity, etc...

Lessons are specifically tailored to each student based on ability level, learning style, and goals. Younger children will focus more on technique and fun, but in every lesson it is my goal for my students to grow their own musical sensibilities. Above all, I love sharing with my students the joy that playing the classical guitar can add to their lives.
About Kevin

My initial studies were in jazz and other electric styles, and I performed in a number of varied ensembles. I recently graduated with a Master's degree from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music.
*** Travel Equipment ***
I bring blank staff paper and other paper materials (music, exercises) to each lesson, as well as my guitar. I will bring a 1/4" cable for electric students. I expect students to bring their instrument and any accessories necessary. A music stand is required.
*** Specialties ***
My primary performing instrument is classical guitar, and I am well-versed in the literature. I love teaching jazz, rock, folk, or any other kind of music on the guitar.

About Christopher S.
CloseThe classical guitar is a rich and powerful instrument that has a long history. It has been developed like many instruments such as the piano, and today the guitar has a very powerful influence on modern music. However, the beautiful sounds from the past eras of music, Renaissance, Baroque, and Romanic composers have created wonderful and mysterious pieces that feature this incredible instrument. My goal is to help people who are interested in this type of music be able to perform and reproduce these amazing sounds.
About Christopher
I am a recent graduate with a Masters of Music degree from the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston, MA. There I studied with the world-renowned guitarist Eliot Fisk who is a direct student of the legendary guitarist Andres Segovia.
Currently I work part time teaching 12 students guitar at the University of South Carolina, in Columbia. I also I teach ukulele, Spanish, Italian, and English to a variety of students online. At the same time I am pursuing a Doctoral degree from the university to strengthen my skills as a guitarist and expand my knowledge as a teacher for higher education. I have also just completed my debut album titled, "Anima - The Music of Spain and Italy for the Gu
This album is a tribute and memorial to an amazing journey I had traveling and living in Europe for 3 years.
After I graduated from my undergraduate degree, I realized that in order to better my skills as a musician and become the guitar teacher I wanted to be I had to travel abroad. I moved to Seville, Spain where for three years I studied the art of classical and flamenco guitar.
I studied with a international known Spanish guitarist named Francisco Bernier at the Conservatory in Seville. During this time I was also teaching English as a second language to high school and middle school students. From traveling and spending so much time in Europe, I also developed and studied my love of languages and I became fluent in Spanish and Italian.
The experienced was an experience of a lifetime and I made many friends working and living abroad that to this day, I still keep in contact with.
If you are interested in having lessons with me, please contact me and we can begin learning the art of making beautiful music or learning the beautiful languages of the Mediterranean! "Hasta pronto!" "A presto!" and "Speak to you soon!"

About Lenny R.
CloseI have spent the past 12 years of my life dedicated to the guitar. While obtaining my Bachelor's degree in Guitar performance at Oberlin Conservatory I was employed by the conservatory's secondary lessons department. This studio featured a diverse mix of college students, adults, and children. In addition I am Suzuki method certified and I was a summer instructor at the Amherst School of Guitar in Buffalo, NY. I have experience working with children from as young as 5 to as old as 65.
About Lenny
While studying with me we will work on many facets of music including technique, sight reading, critical listening, music theory, improvisation, and how to apply these skills to a piece of music to truly express yourself. My goal is to instill a deep understanding of music to my students while letting their individual sensibilities show.
STYLES: I can teach all styles of American music (i.e Rock, Blues, Country, Jazz, R&B etc.) as well as classical and fingerstyle.
I have a degree in classical
I have experience playing in many different bands in many styles including: Rock, Reggae, African, Blues, and Jazz groups.
SUZUKI METHOD: I am trained and certified in the Suzuki Guitar Method and spent 3 years teaching Suzuki in studio with children as young as 5. This involves a significant parent-teacher-student commitment and regularly yields impressive results.
ON TALENT: I agree with Shin-ichi Suzuki that talent is irrelevant and a myth. I believe that the potential of all my students are the same but they come to me with various starting skills levels and all learn at a very different pace. I believe that the myth of “talent” really just means that the individual has had a long exposure to music. This is why I emphasize critical listening in my lessons. If you have a large knowledge of music and sounds in your head it makes it easier to make connections and better assess your ideas.

My teaching style is very in depth, but laid back. I base my lessons off the students' specific needs and abilities rather than a set curriculum. My lessons are also different in that they prepare you for all styles of music rather than one or two genres. Overall you will learn at an exponential rate. I go into details and principles that are truly the fundamentals of learning music for any instrument. But I will most importantly, do my absolute best to make learning music an easy and stress-free process.
About Jared
Studying piano and guitar at a young age, Jared has also played numerous piano recitals and recorded various piano parts and compositions for studios/clients throughout LA. As well as guitar and piano, he teaches and performs mandolin, ukulele, banjo, and bass. He also has writing credits for bands throughout the
