Matt was my guitar teacher from 5th grade to 10th grade, teaching me electric guitar for over five years. Now as a Junior in college, I am still thankful for the lessons Matt taught me to have a great foundation in playing guitar. Matt is one of the most knowledgeable people a student could learn from. He pays special detail to the habits that many guitar players fall into when beginning, and made sure these habits were eliminated quickly. I had both parents, grandparents, and friends sit in on our lessons and all were impressed with the careful and thorough approach of Matt’s teaching. Thank you Matt!

Matt has taught me electric guitar through High School and I had learned techniques beyond I thought I could ever conquer. He is a exceptional teacher and is very inspiring to my guitar playing and music capabilities.

My two daughters, 13 and 16, have been taking lessons from Rachel for about a year now. They were beginning and intermediate levels. Both of them have enjoyed working with Rachel. She has kept lessons fun and engaging and we have seen a lot of progress. My daughters love celtic fiddle songs and Rachel has helped them play more on pitch and taught them some neat techniques. Rachel has also been very patient with our scheduling changes and is a great communicator.

Rachel is a terrific and inspiring fiddle teacher. Lessons were focused on achieving my goals (which I did) but lots of fun too. Rachel is great at suggesting a number of approaches to improving your skills and also suggested some great new fiddle tunes! I highly recommend Rachel for fiddle lessons.

Tyler is a wonder and talented musician who teaches. I have found the norm is that talented musicians play and the rest teach. Tyler does both wonderfully! He's a creative and encouraging teacher who know how to take complex material and explain it in a way anyone can understand! I highly recommend him to whoever is interested in learning a musical Instrument!

"I had been playing primarily heavy metal guitar for the past decade or so, but recently I had been itching to give classical guitar a shot. I chose Shaun primarily because he lived in my area and because he offered in-home lessons at a very reasonable rate.

After 6 months of lessons or so, I have to say I've had every expectation met and exceeded. He puts a lot of effort into designing his own instructional materials (exercises, theory work, etc), and he always comes to the lesson with a plan. He's also done a great job helping me develop proper technique (particularly in the right hand) and certain musicianship skills (e.g., improv, inflection/mood). The pieces he has chosen for me to work on have been both challenging for my skill level but also musically compelling.

Most importantly, he's just the nicest guy in the world, always has a lot of enthusiasm (but isn't over the top), and has an open mind when it comes to others' taste in music and what his students want to get out of the guitar.

In sum: my lessons with him have been very effective and have been a blast, I highly recommend him!"

"Excellent, safe and trustworthy.

Josh has been the best guitar teach I have had (I have had three others in the past). He is exceedingly patient, flexible and very knowledgeable about the subject, for both theory and practice.

I have a better understanding of the mechanics, style and technique of classical guitar than I had coming in and have learned some really excellent pieces. Josh works at my pace and understands when work and 'life' interfere with my ability to practice during the week."

"I signed up to play guitar for "The Sound of Music" with Burbank Community Theater, and after I got the music I realized I was way over my head. So, I went to Mike hoping to get a lot of help. He's amazing. First, he sight-read all of my music, which is crazy. Then he was able to simplify it for me so I could play it and still make it sound good. If it wasn't for him I wouldn't have been able to do the show. And now that I've done the show successfully I have a whole new range of skills on the guitar and playing the songs I love is way easier.

I'm so grateful for Mike and everything he's taught me!"

"From the first day, Ahmad has crafted lessons tailored specifically to my goals and skill set. I already had a decent idea about how to get around the guitar, but I wanted someone to help me get to the next level, to understand the guitar completely. Ahmad is incredibly knowledgable about the instrument and theory, perceptive to learning habits, and overall a fun person to be around. He's also incredibly patient about working around schedules. I can't recommend him enough!"

A Little Bit of Country: Easy Classic Country Songs for Guitarists

If you're a fan of classic country music, you've come to the right place. Here, guitar teacher Willy M. shares his favorite classic country songs for guitarists... I grew up in the late '70s and early '80s in the rural Midwest when "Hee-Haw," a country television program, was something that everyone knew about. It was the Grand Ole Opry’s rendition of a high-theatrical experience, and a showcase for classic country artists to play their tunes. Willie Nelson, one of my favorite songwr …
