Harp:
A stringed musical instrument that has a number of individual strings running at an angle to its soundboard; the strings are plucked with the fingers. Harps have been known since antiquity in Asia, Africa and Europe, dating back at least as early as 3500 BC. The instrument had great popularity in Europe during the Middle Ages and Renaissance, where it evolved into a wide range of variants with new technologies, and was disseminated to Europe's colonies, finding particular popularity in Latin America. We will start by learning how to tune, seating and hand/plucking placement. I have an easy to follow technique where you will learn the strings, notes, how to read music, rhythms, plucking techniques, and songs. As the student advances theory and soloing will be incorporated.

Karen was not prepared for the lesson. She spent 15 minutes trying to send me photos from a beginner Tabla book available on Amazon. She did not own a set of Tabla drums. She ensured me she could teach anything, but could not pronounce the words used for proper Tabla technique, knew no history and could not even teach me to tune. She literally was reading out of the book figuring it out along the way. I lost a lot of trust from this and asked for a full refund for future lessons.

"I’ve been one of Eleonora’s first students and I’ve studied harp with her for 4 years. It has been very rewarding.
I was always looking forward to her lessons: she inspired us to practice for competitions and she always encouraged me to play in front of an audience, giving the very best of my self.
Playing the harp has always been a great joy for me thanks to her lessons."

"I started harp lessons when I was 8 years old, and neither my parents nor I ever thought about looking for another teacher. Pam Irwin's teaching style made it easy for me to learn many wedding songs, hymns, and classical pieces. This has led to numerous church performances as well as weddings and parties. I've been so blessed to have her as my teacher from the beginning all the way through the 12th grade. During my college freshman year, I won the talent show at Florida College playing the harp. She is well capable to take a beginner to the advanced level. She is patient, kind, thoughtful, and encouraging. I would not be the musician I am today if it weren't for her excellent teaching."

"Phaedra is a professional colleague of mine. I have always been impressed with how well prepared her students are for competitions and auditions. Her attention to technical detail, and musicality show a dedication to, and love of teaching. During the Covid-19 pandemic, she is being extremely careful having her students wash their hands, and use hand sanitizer before, and during lessons."

"I highly reccommend Jill! She has taught my seven year old daughter online for the past 4 months. My daughter is an absolute beginner, however, is quickly progressing through the curriculum. Jill keeps the lessons & activities fun, and engaing. She is a fantastic teacher, encouraging and oozing with positivity. Choosing Jill as our harp instructor has been the best decision for us.
