I am a harpist, pianist, arranger, composer, performer and lover of music. With over 10 years of experience teaching both piano and harp lessons. Although I graduated from Brigham Young University in Idaho with a Bachelors in visual communication, I have continued to stretch my skills as musician and teacher.
I perform frequently and love sharing my passion for the harp and piano through teaching so others can also experience having these beautiful instruments in their lives.
I teach piano and harp students of all different ages and experience levels, although I have an especially great love for teaching children and youth. I studied classical piano for over 12 years, and classic harp for over 11 years. A huge part of my music education was focused on theory and as a result I have a great love of having a strong foundation in musical theory.
I strive to help my students develop a love music that can last throughout their entire life while still learning proper technique and theory. I strive to help students set individual goals and then structure lessons to help these students reach each of their dreams.
I really enjoy composing and arranging so something that I especially love to do is help students play music and songs that they want to by arranging music specifically to their individual levels and skills. I've found that this not only helps motivate students but also adds an extra fun aspect to our lessons.
My passion is sharing my love of music with those around me. I would love the chance to meet you and hopefully share this passion with you!
On and off for over 10 years I have run my own private harp and piano studio.
Jill is excellent, talented and fun. She pushes her students to achieve but doesn't drive them too hard. She is always prepared and has great ideas and solutions to problems. Highly recommend.
Jill is an amazing harp teacher! Because she is so positive, energetic and supportive, she has made learning to play the harp a wonderful experience for my daughters. She is able motivate my girls to practice and they look forward to their lessons each week. I asked my girls what their favorite things are about Jill. My 14-year-old said, “It is really obvious that she loves to play the harp. This makes me love to play as well because of her enthusiasm and example. She is really encouraging when I get frustrated.” My 12-year-old said, “She helps me find my weaknesses and thinks of ways to strengthen them. She also makes learning the harp a lot of fun.” We would highly recommend Jill as a music teacher!+ Read More
