Levels Taught:
Beginner, Intermediate
As a music teacher of over 10 years I take a fun but structured approach to learning the harp. I've taught all ages and I individually work with each student to help them learn the music that they want to and reach the goals that they set for themselves. I also have a large emphasis on hand position and help my students have the very best technique so they can play their very best. We will typically start with exercises and technique and then move to music. I will then send written individual feedback after the lesson to help remind the student of what we are working on. I hope to have the chance to share my love of music with you!

Teaching since:

I am a harpist, pianist, arranger, composer, performer and lover of music. With over 12 years of experience teaching both piano and harp lessons. Although I graduated from Brigham Young University in Idaho with a Bachelors in visual communication, I have continued to stretch my skills as musician and teacher.

I perform frequently and love sharing my passion for the harp and piano through teaching so others can also experience having these beautiful instruments in their lives.

I teach piano and harp students of all different ages and experience levels, although I have an especially great love for teaching children and youth. I studied classical piano for over 12 years, and classic harp for over 11 years. A huge part of my music education was focused on theory and as a result I have a great love of having a strong foundation in musical theory.

I strive to help my students develop a love music that can last throughout their entire life while still learning proper technique and theory. I try to help students set individual goals and then structure lessons to help these students reach each of their dreams.

Practicing can be hard for any student, but playing music you enjoy can help you stick with it. To inspire my students, I find or arrange music they both enjoy and that will help them progress. I've found that this not only motivates students but also adds an extra fun aspect to our lessons and practices.

My passion is sharing my love of music with those around me. Schedule your first harp lesson with me today!

This is exactly what I wanted for a first lesson....get to know each other, review basics of hand and instrument placement and how to tune the Harp. That is alot for a 30 min. lesson....Perfect!

I highly reccommend Jill! She has taught my seven year old daughter online for the past 4 months. My daughter is an absolute beginner, however, is quickly progressing through the curriculum. Jill keeps the lessons & activities fun, and engaing. She is a fantastic teacher, encouraging and oozing with positivity. Choosing Jill as our harp instructor has been the best decision for us. Give her a try; you won't regret it!

Jill is an engaging teacher for my 11-year-old daughter. My daughter has had harp lessons before, but Jill's energetic personality and enthusiasm has rekindled her interest in playing. Jill is organized and an effective communicator. We have appreciated that practice goals between lessons are clearly outlined at the end of each lesson.

I left Jill a review after my first lesson, but now that we've been together for a few months I wanted to write another. She is the most positive and encouraging teacher I could have ever asked for. My experience learning the harp was better because of her. I can't recommend her enough and hope others are able to experience the joy of learning a new instrument with her. Thank you Jill for everything, you're truly the best!

Jill is excellent, talented and fun. She pushes her students to achieve but doesn't drive them too hard. She is always prepared and has great ideas and solutions to problems. Highly recommend.

Jill is an amazing harp teacher! Because she is so positive, energetic and supportive, she has made learning to play the harp a wonderful experience for my daughters. She is able motivate my girls to practice and they look forward to their lessons each week. I asked my girls what their favorite things are about Jill. My 14-year-old said, “It is really obvious that she loves to play the harp. This makes me love to play as well because of her enthusiasm and example. She is really encouraging when I get frustrated.” My 12-year-old said, “She helps me find my weaknesses and thinks of ways to strengthen them. She also makes learning the harp a lot of fun.” We would highly recommend Jill as a music teacher!

Jill has been an amazing teacher for our daughter, who is a beginning harp student. Jill is always very positive with her and encourages her to practice. I also appreciate that Jill is open to my suggestions about how to motivate my daughter when practicing gets tough. Her energy and love for music is infectious and helps my daughter be enthusiastic too. I would highly recommend Jill to any of my friends.
