I have few lessons with Keith so far. Keith is a very patient and flexible teacher. He customizes lesson plan accordingly to my level and needs. I have learned a lot in short amount of time. Thank you!

He is the best! It’s been 3 weeks and I’m singing everywhere I go!

Keith is very knowledgeable, patient and methodical. By letting me play a few notes and asking a few questions, he already knew where I should start and had the whole study plan figured out. His lessons are very productive but not in an overwhelming way. After two classes, I actually already feel I've improved significantly. I'm getting more and more comfortable playing to musical notes, which I tried to teach myself several times but all failed. I finally feel I'm on the right track!

Rachel is an excellent teacher. She has vast musical knowledge and the ability to communicate on a level that the student can easily understand. Rachel is extremely personable and puts the student at ease from the very beginning. She takes the time to understand the student’s goals and musical interests and tailors the lessons to keep the student motivated. My 9-year-old daughter and 11-year-old son have been taking uke lessons for 3 weeks now and they really enjoy Ruben's style of teaching; so do we. He provides a great combination of making it fun while also really teaching them the foundations of music. They are already reading and writing some music and they enjoy doing their music homework. Most important, they are having fun at the lessons and while practicing at home.

"1st Lesson

My 1st lesson with Jason was very relaxed & professional. I learned more in 45 minutes than the last 5 months on my own in regards to reading music, rhythm, timing and playing the notes on the staff. He is very patient and knowledgeable. His diversity in music provides an understanding of where you are at and where you want to go with music. I look forward to my next lesson with Jason.

"I love taking lessons with Raymond! I have been studying classical guitar with him for about three years, and look forward to my lessons more now than when I started them. I have some musical background, but always felt stuck when taking instrumental lessons from other instructors, wondering if I would ever be able to work hard enough to truly learn an instrument well. Raymond's expertise, his kindness, sense of humor, and holistic teaching style--that reaches me on my level, rather than just telling me what to do--really shows the results of great instruction. Plus, some of Raymond's methods for learning guitar apply to other areas in life and help me work through other "challenges"! Thank you for inspiring me, Raymond!"

Should Classical Violinists Learn to Improvise?

A few weeks ago the Washington Post published an article about musician Hannah Hanh and her struggles with improvisation.  As a classical violinist, she hadn't had much training for spontaneity, naturally. The article points out improvisation as a technique that has fallen by the wayside for many performers these days. And it asks an interesting question: Can (and should) classical musicians learn to improvise? We've talked a lot about improvising on the guitar and drums, but where do classi …
