I studied music extensively in college, and I now have two Masters Degrees in a field that I love and learn from continuously! I can definitely help you write hit songs and tunes that will strike heart strings and peak the ears of those around you, while creatively yet intelligently expressing your thoughts/feelings. Also, I have studied at the Berkley School of Music for Songwriting. It's time to get those tunes down on paper and recorded :)

About Elizabeth
Hi there, and I am glad you found my profile! My name is Elizabeth, and I truly believe in progressive education as a means to help you reach your ultimate goals through learning. I strongly believe in excellence and with that comes sacrifice in areas of discipline and practice; I have such a strong belief in these principles because I truly care about you and your success. I really do, and this is why I require so much from you!

I have been singing, songwriting, and playing guitar for about 10 years now. I am a savvy instructor and have been honing the craft of songwriting and melody formation over my guitar for over 8 years now. I am sure that we can reach whatever aspiring goals you have set for yourself. I also ha
ve a strong jazz and theory background.

I found Zach through 'take lessons' after my daughter had a few years with an intense classical pianist. I want my daughter to have fun and appreciate music and not feel the intense pressure she was feeling with our previous instructor. Zach was the perfect choice. My daughter loves her lessons. Zach does take time off for his professional endevors. Good for him. He has always let us know and connected with us when he returns.

Whether you want to write in the style of your idols or you want to create something new and different, help is never a bad idea. I've been writing songs as long as I've been playing music, and have advanced musically as a way to get better at writing songs. I've ALWAYS bounced ideas off of like-minded friends. There's something a second opinion gives you that you'll never get on your own. Let me help you make your first (or tenth) album something special!

About Francis
Hi everyone! I'm a hard-working musician with a background in live performance, songwriting, composition, and home recording. I want to help you perform the music you love, whether you're playing to your family, your webcam, or a 15,000 seat arena. I have been teaching private music lessons since 2007.

I am a graduate of UCSD, where I completed my bachelor's degree in music theory and composition. I have taken years of private lessons, played bass, guitar, and mandolin in local and touring bands, and my music has been featured on at least 7 albums. I want to make your goals accessible, and I want to help you find your sound.

*** Lesson Details ***
I focus on making lessons fun for my students. I emphasize the importance of practicing on your own and building confidence by performing live and/or writing your own songs. I love to hel
p people get better at sounding like themselves.

During lessons from me, you can expect to play, sing, clap your hands, and become completely immersed in the music you love. Whether your goal is to perform in front of an audience, record albums, or just play for fun in your living room, I'll help you make that happen.

*** Studio Equipment ***
Music room, seating available, street parking.

*** Travel Equipment ***
I only teach students who provide their own instrument. I am willing to provide a loaner guitar for the week if a student's instrument needs to be repaired or is not accessible for any reason. I also provide homework when necessary :)

*** Specialties ***
I specialize in teaching confidence in performance practices, technique, singing and playing, and good microphone habits for singing, speaking, recording, and songwriting. I teach based on student needs, and I find each student benefits from a different curriculum.

I have extensive experience composing and writing, and have recorded 100 of my works. Let me teach you songwriting secrets and music theory so you can start creating your own music right away!

About Ian
A lifelong musician and songwriter, Ian S. has extensive experience teaching guitar and piano to students age 3 and up both as a private music instructor and as a staff music instructor at the Institute of Music for Children. With 28 years of experience on the guitar and 32 years on piano, Ian has studied and performed with several award-winning music artists, and has written, recorded, and produced over one hundred songs. He plays and teaches a variety of styles on both the guitar and the piano, from classical to jazz to rock. Ian is patient, friendly, and loves sharing the gift of music.

Ian was the guitarist in the Princeton University Jazz Ensemble for 3 seasons, was selected from a nationwide pool of musicians to perform at a special music event at the Kennedy Center in Washington DC, and was the recipient of the New Jersey Gove
rnor's Award in Arts Education for the category of Instrumental Music.

*** Lesson Details ***
I am very laid back and friendly, and I want you or your child to be as comfortable as possible during our lessons. You or your child will develop confidence and musical intelligence. I will make your lessons fun, enjoyable, and effective. Boredom is not an option! Music is fun... let's keep it that way.

The teaching methods I use will be custom-tailored to your individual needs, personality and specific musical goals. If it's guitar or piano you want to learn, I want to get you playing exactly what you want to be playing as soon as possible. That's what you're here for, and that's what I'm here for. I will make it happen. If it's songwriting that you want to learn, I will help you access that place inside of you that is dying to express itself creatively, and will teach you techniques to harness that energy and translate it successfully into musical expression.

You can expect to learn all the basics of music theory, proper playing techniques, improvisation and spontaneous musical expression, and I will help you develop your "ear" so you can figure out songs you like just by listening to them. This is all about you and your goals, and I want you to achieve them in a fun and engaging way.

*** Studio Equipment ***
Living room: Upright piano, guitars, amps, keyboard, percussion

*** Specialties ***
I specialize in pop, rock, classical, jazz, blues, folk, fingerstyle (guitar), etc. I also teach improvisation and songwriting, and try to develop the student's ear for figuring out songs they like on their own.

About Rebecca
I have 50 years of teaching experience, from beginners to advanced students. I also teach the people no one else thinks are teachable because I work with people from where they are and find their best learning styles. Several of my students are now professional musicians, but that's not everyone's course. I teach every age range from 3-83 and everything from classical to country-western. And I teach every orchestral and band instrument, and guitar, bass, and drum kit and some instruments you've never heard of. I also teach voice, pop, rock, opera, doesn't matter to me.

*** Lesson Details ***
Important Note: I will no longer take new students that want lessons every other week, beginning Nov 1. Inconsistent lessons, especially with younger students, allows them to forget too much between sessions.

What I teach is transferable
to EVERY endeavor whether it's music or math or soccer. I require practice on the student's part. You will be able to play recognizable songs within your first month. You tell me what you or your child wants out of music lessons, and I will tell you exactly how to get it.

*** Studio Equipment ***
Lesson will happen in a space next to the family room which is upstairs. Teacher has a collection of instruments, music stands, couches for seating. Park on the street or driveway.

I'm flexible. I have taught everything from country western guitar to classical guitar, from Jazz trumpet to orchestral audition music, from barbershop singing to Broadway musical singing. I have even taught ballet. I cater my methods to the student's best learning style.

'Make one stop at the songwriting shop!" Learn song form, tighten lyrics and melodies, get inspired when you don't "feel" like writing, good prosody, chords, arrangement, copyright, legalities, how to place songs in film and TV, record your finished song in the studio.

About Fawn
"Make one stop at the music shop!"
Fawn is not your typical music coach. As a recent Billboard hit recording artist & coaching 21 years, Fawn immediately gets to your goals & together you reach them. What you learn becomes part of you & that's the key to success. Whether you're beginner, advanced, special needs, have a short term issue, long term issue or even damaged vocal chords, whatever your situation, Fawn can handle it all successfully :) Not just in voice, but also in any difficult musical area including songwriting, performance, recording, piano & more.

In Los Angeles, Fawn is the music and entertainment industry's coach known as the one who "gets the job done." Clients have included Grammy and Oscar winners as well as vocalists and actors from The Voice, American Idol, Disney, America's Got Talent, Nickelodeon, X-Factor an
d many others. She has been producing music and vocals in the recording studio, coaching voice, piano, songwriting, rap writing, performance, studio, jazz, blues, classical, pop and artist development for the past 20 years. She was operatically trained by Juilliard instructor Sylvia Bagley, trained as a jazz singer at world re-known Berklee College of Music, where she won several songwriting awards, and was R & B/Pop trained by Vocal Coach To The Stars, Seth Riggs. In 2010 she had a #6 Billboard hit dance song, which she wrote and sang and 2 top 10 hits in 2016. She has written, recorded and performed songs in several different languages for a variety of films, television shows, and commercials such as Nickelodeon's Hollywood Heights, The Natalee Holloway Story, Spike Lee Productions, Barbie, Ponds, Target, Ford, Mazda, Pontiac, The Guiding Light, The Young and The Restless. MTV and several others. Fawn has also sung, written and played in many different styles from Jazz/Blues to Classical to Pop to children's to Opera.

Fawn is a very fun, yet honest and straight-forward coach. She loves working with adults and children, and considers lessons a 'team effort to reach her students' goals. Being that music and the entertainment business are her career and life, she is current and relevant, yet has plenty of old school training to be well rounded and help students build a strong foundation. Music and the entertainment business are her life, and she loves helping people reach their goals and meet their dreams. She has released 5 albums, several singles, won numerous awards and worked with such talents as Grammy winners Lalah Hathaway and Paula Cole, Meredith Brooks, Vampire Diaries Kat Grahm, BT, Jeff Goldblum, Right Said Fred, Ed Townsend, QD3, Club Nuveau's Val Watson, Robbie Benson and shared the stage with Stevie Wonder, Chaka Khan, Carol Channing, Kevin Sorbo, Pink, Joss Stone, David Guetta, Katy Perry, Moby, Dionne Warwick, James Torme', David Foster, Thelma Houston, David Pomeranz, War and countless others. She has also worked with Kevin Costner, Alexandra Paul, David Marshall Grant, Florence Henderson, Jay Leno, Hulk Hogan, Darryl Hannah, Tommy Lee, Martin Lawrence, Magic Johnson, Pamela Anderson, Jermaine Dupri, Rae Dawn Chong, Eva Longoria, Joan Rivers, Erik Estrada, John Amos, and others appearing with them in film, TV and benefits for worthy causes.

Over the years, Fawn has been known to bring students into her inner circle, so they can gain more experience and exposure, taking them to red carpets, events and even putting them up onstage to perform. She remembers having piano, voice and songwriting coaches, and being frustrated in voice because instructors were not addressing issues that needed to be addressed. This is why she creates a positive and comfortable, safe environment so students can open up and progress quickly. Fawn moves straight to the heart of the matter and gets whatever needs work figured out, so students can move on to what their goals and dreams are. She has helped actors be able to sing parts for their TV shows, helped popular bands be able to have good stage performances and presence with precision dancing and singing and has helped vocalists find their true voice. She is able to get piano students as young as 5 to a high-level Concerto level of playing with in 3 years, completely reading the pieces on their own. The youngest person she has ever taught was 3 years old and blind. The oldest person she has ever taught so far taught was 89 years old, after suffering a stroke. She was able to help her get her voice back within 20 minutes of her first lesson. Fawn also does vocal rehabilitation, vocal therapy, and music therapy. She has worked with special needs children with Downs Syndrome, ADHD, ADD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Pit Hopkins Disease and more. As far as being a songwriter, Fawn generally writes words and music at the same time but she has also written lyrics and music separately, as well as composed instrumental pieces. Fawn trained with Pat Pattison and Grammy winning Lyricist Marty Panzer in lyric writing and she is a master at producing, recording and editing vocals, and is happy to help you with your recording projects, as she owns Terrace Recording Studios in Los Angeles, CA.

This is our second year with Miss Fawn and I can't say enough wonderful things about her. My two older girls have taken piano for 3 1/2 years and she is by far the best teacher we've had.
Miss Fawn is very talented in her own right and expects stellar results from her students. She has a way with kids that make them feel comfortable and excited about piano while making incredible progress.
My 7 year old just started taking lessons and has learned so much already.
Miss Fawn comes to our home each week which, as a busy mom of five, is extremely helpful with our crazy schedule.
Thank you, Miss Fawn!

Miss Fawn is my all time favorite teacher! She's very clear about her teaching and is a great teacher to learn from. Although she's strict on learning, she's honestly a teacher where you actually have fun at the same time! She actually makes sure that you understand, and I'm glad she does that. She makes me laugh so much and is so funny! I enjoy her class very much and I want to thank her for making me a great piano player!

I found Fawn because my friend has been working with her for 4 years on rap and R&B music. His rapping, writing and singing has improved 500%, so when I needed help with my spoken word and my rapping, I knew who to go to! Fawn is cool. She pulls out of me what I need to succeed. Her skills are on point. It's her perfectionism, enthusiasm and expertise that keep me improving my craft and my end game. She is in on every recording for my new project and I am getting paid now for my talents thanks to her.

Songwriting lessons are in some ways similar to Composition Lessons (see "Composition") with a focus on popular songwriting, including musical theater and commercial music. You will learn about harmony and form, but lyric writing and also how to tell a story through song. You will also work on how to create a catchy hook, how to keep your song focused and clear, how to create a "turn" at the end, and how to grab and keep the listener's attention.

My music has been produced off-Broadway and around the country, including LA, San Diego, and San Fransisco, and I'm an alumna of the famed BMI Musical Theater Workshop (whose other graduates include the writers of Ragtime, Avenue Q, Frozen, Next to Normal, If/Then, Little Shop of Horrors, The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, and Nine, to name a few). She personalizes her instruction to fit the learning style of each student, focusing on technique, theory, and repertoire while making sure the student does not lose his or her love of music in the process.

As a composer, she has written for both the piano and the stage and is listed in The Directory of Contemporary Musical Theater Writers at Contemporary Musical Theater.com. She wrote the music, book and lyrics to Deployed, which premiered off-off Broadway at the Abingdon Theatre Company in November 2013 and played again at the Gene Frankel Theatre in January 2014 to sold-out audiences. It was featured in the Musical Theater Factory’s 4x15 in March 2015 and continues to be developed. Other work includes: Hall Pass ("Flyers and Fryers," Grace Church School, produced by Blake McCarthy), The Big C (songs, Dramatists Guild), "Performance Anxiety" (music/lyrics, The Flea Theatre, Raw Impressions Musical Theatre Marathon),The Music of Natalie (The Duplex), and "Movement to Contact" (score, Veteran Artist Program PSA). She has served as rehearsal pianist for the New York Musical Theatre Festival, and accompanist and music director for NYU’s Tisch School for the Arts.

Natalie was great with my 7 year old daughter. They worked together on warmups, and she gave her a song to practice during their off time. Natalie was pleasant, and a joy to work with! She is really great with kids.

As a professional songwriter and producer I have recorded over 5 albums or original material, and have recorded original music for brands and channels such as Old Spice, UPS, Proctor and Gamble, VH1, E! and the Oxygen Network but what I enjoy most is helping students develop their artistry ... no matter where they are at on the journey.

Please message me any questions you may have. I look forward to hearing from you.

About Fernando
I am a professional vocalist who regularly performs with orchestras, rock bands, jazz bands and as a singer/songwriter. I teach beginners to professional touring artists and can break down the seemingly complex vocal techniques in simple to understand concepts and exercises. My focus areas are breath, placement and freedom from tension in order to increase your efficiency, stamina and flexibility between registers and musicality. (See my online tutorials for a quick idea of what it might be like to work with me)

I have a degree in Vocal Performance from the University of Michigan and have worked professionally from Opera to Pop. I started my professional music career at the age of 10, traveling the world with the American Boychoir School in Princeton, NJ. I moved to the San Francisco Bay Area where I worked as an instructor and vocal
coach for the Grammy Award Winning Pacific Boychoir. I also sang professionally for ensembles such as the San Francisco Symphony Chorus, Clerestory, American Bach Soloists and San Francisco Pocket Opera.

I am currently a vocal instructor for Sweetwater Music Academy, music director for the Jesters (a theatre ensemble for people with developmental disabilities) and I sing for hospital patients as a Parkview Healing Artist. I have taught grade levels K-8 in private schools so I am accustomed to all age levels.

As a songwriter I have composed and performed music for MTV, VHI, E! and the Oxygen Network, and have acted on commercials for Southern Comfort, Old Spice, & Anthem Blue Cross.

I am also the songwriter and front man for the original regional RootsRock band, Fernando T. & The Wickersham Bros and have established myself as a teaching artist for young audiences through the Carnegie Hall Link Up Concert Series.

I look forward any questions you may have and hope to help you or your child find creative fulfillment from the most unique instrument in the world- your voice!

[PLEASE NOTE: I will be teaching exclusively online from June-December 2017 period and am happy to squeeze in as many in in location lessons you would like before then]

Fernando's lessons are very helpful. I have improved my singing technique within my first five lessons. He teaches based on the individual versus a cookie cutter method. I would recommend Fernanado, especially for beginners.

I'm so glad we signed up for singing lessons! Fernando is a natural teacher for all ages. Don't hesitate to consult!

My 6 year old granddaughter, Avery, had so much fun (learning) about octaves, counting beats, singing and she accompanied Fernando with ease!
Thanks Fernando!
P.s. I was ready to join in too!

Fernando is a true talent and an asset to the community of Fort Wayne, Indiana. My first experience with him was 7 years ago at St. Henry Community Center. Fernando sang and played guitar during our Christmas recital. I was completely amazed with his vocal range and ability to captivate an audience with his overall musical aura. Fernando also taught vocal lessons for St. Henry and continued to contribute his ideas and talents to enhance the community center. We were blessed to have him as a part of our staff. He is, without a doubt, the best vocal coach that one could ask for. If you are looking to make singing a goal of yours in 2017, do yourself a favor and sign up for lessons with Fernando.

Songwriting lessons vary widely based on the student's knowledge, but I have taken 16 year olds who have never played a note on piano to writing and playing their own song with lyrics in 3 months. I also teach an annual summer course on songwriting for some of the country's best young writers at a camp at the University of Iowa (a Unesco City of Literature). You can look up my music online/Spotify (Christopher the Conquered) for an example of my songwriting style.

I have a portable recording rig that I can use to record students who are ready to share what they've learned, whether it be with friends/family (a great gift) or with the world by uploading the songs online.

About Christopher
I am a pianist and singer-songwriter. I recently moved to Denver, Colorado from Des Moines, Iowa. I make a living full-time as a musician, and give piano, vocal, and songwriting lessons in my free time.

I have worked in an official capacity for the non-profit ArtForce Iowa, teaching piano, voice, and songwriting to court-appointed youth. I have also taught piano to adults, and lead an annual songwriting course at the University of Iowa's Young Writer's Workshop.

My main musical project is called Christopher the Conquered. You can look it up online to hear samples of my work and to watch videos of my live performances. My music has appeared in films and commercials as well.

For in-person lessons, I have a portable recording rig that I can use to record students who are ready to share what they've learned, whether it be with friends/fami
