Jordan is very knowledgeable and a good teacher. You can find good guitar players that will show you how to play guitar, but Jordan is much more than that and can instruct even veteran players on how to improve their play.

Great Instruction for all levels

I am in my mid-thirties and have never had any formal musical instruction until I started taking lessons with Jordan a few months ago. I was a little nervous about starting the lessons, but Jordan made me very comfortable right away. You definitely can tell he knows music inside and out. He is also very helpful about incorporating just enough music theory into each lesson, so I can expand my knowledge of theory, but not so much that I get overwhelmed. I would definitely recommend Jordan to anyone looking for a great vocal or guitar instructor.

I try to help each songwriter become the best writer they can be through their own sound and language. During the lessons, I do quite a bit of analysis of a student's favorite pieces, as well as my own...then incorporate that into their own songwriting process.

About Joe

I absolutely love teaching music! After over 20 years of teaching, performing, writing, and recording in all styles/genres, it continues to be a great adventure. It is a joy to pass this on to others...especially seeing my students that never touched the instrument going on to be very proficient

I had an amazing experience taking vocal lessons with Jo. I came in to our lessons having a lot of experience with playing the guitar, and I could tell right away that Jo had a knack for teaching based on the experience and abilities of her students. She taught me vocal warmups that I use regularly now, helped me work through some of my favorite songs from multiple genres, and helped give me confidence to pursue singing more. I can't wait to take lessons with her again in the future, and would highly recommend her as an instructor!

"I write contemporary Christian and inspirational music. Mimi was great and helped me with my song melody's and structure. She was very encouraging, and knowledgeable. Showed me how to change the melody in the bridge to make my song stronger. I am pitching songs to have them recorded by Christian artist. I think one of the songs we worked on has good chance of being recorded. Thank you Mimi. Will come back for more sessions."

I love her. She is so sweet, she is amazing I would tell all my friends interested in piano, voice, music theory, songwriting or anything having to do with music, to take lessons with her. I can’t believe how much I have improved on my songwriting, voice and playing. I wish I had found her sooner. She's a miracle worker. "When I first took lessons with Triana, I thought I was a pretty good song writer. Looking back I can see how much I have improved. I always felt like my songs could be better, but I didn't know how I could get them to the place I wanted. Triana has an uncanny ability to hear the best version of your song and guide you towards it. I never felt like she was writing for me, but helping me hear the places in my own song that needed work. I feel like my songs are so much stronger now and, more importantly, I can see the places in my own song that need work and can make them better on my own!"

How to Write Lyrics: Steps to Success for Any Musical Style

Interested in learning how to write lyrics and songs? Here, New Jersey guitar teacher Matthew H. explains an easy 3-step process to follow...  Songwriting is not easy; just ask any composer or lyricist. While the musical composition is highly important (making sure the melody is catchy without sounding too trite), having a strong, relatable message to go along with a great tune is just as, if not more, important. Here are some tips on how to write lyrics for a good song. 1) What is …
