As we all know, ear training can be tough. Throughout our lessons, we will utilize a variety of techniques to get the student to a comfortable level. As an MTAC instructor who has been preparing students for the Certificate of Merit exams for over a decade, I have developed various methods and approaches to helping students conquer ear training.

It takes about 6 months on average for my ear training students to be able to point to any key in C major and sing it accurately without playing it. (See videos.)

I use a unique system to get my students playing by ear in a very short amount of time. I have a Bachelor's of Science in Music from Temple University. In the program I took four levels of Music Theory and Ear Training.

I teach ear training through a vocalist's perspective. I'll teach you how to read complex rhythms and melody lines. I can also teach you how to hear for chord changes and how to chart them.
