I've played guitar since I was only eight years old (over 20 years!) in many different bands, styles, and genres. I began studying and working on ear training during my studies at University of Central Florida, and I think that it's a skill that helps with playing ANY instrument, including voice and percussion. I'm happy to help budding music students take their craft to that next level!

I teach you to hear notes properly and discern intervals with efficiency.

We will use innovative techniques based from the Jazz legend and esteemed educator Stefon Harris to ear train. This type of training accesses the feelings and emotions that we naturally experience with music and translates them into an experience that you can use to recognize sound with.

I had a pretty serious obsession with ear training in High School, and I was assistant teaching ear training in 2009 while I was still in college, but my real education in this topic began when I started to freelance. When I started transcribing pieces of music that students would bring and music that I had an interest in but was outside of my training. I learned how to use the fundamentals and eventually bend them to understand music from the ground up in any style. My teaching approach blends Western Solfegge, Indian Classical Sargam and Just Intonation...though I'm happy to just cut the big words and sing with you if that's what you're into.
