Sean was a great teacher. I asked him if he knew how to teach Bollywood style Violin and even though he didn't he took the time to study it and learn just to teach me. I really appreciate that he was so open to trying so hard for his students. I think Sean is great!

Great first lesson. High hopes for follow lessons.

I self-taught myself guitar over 35 years ago; mostly forgotten. Sean began with establishing goals that would meet my goals. The feedback to me during the lessons was focused and delivered in a friendly manner. Progression was enhanced due to his manner and his approach to teaching. While this was the first lesson, I am looking forward to future lessons.

Ear training is the first, and most important skill a musician needs. I have been learning and studying ear training my whole life, and it is a huge part of my life as a musician. From singing, to recognizing pitches, to writing out melodies I hear, to improvising - the basis of all of this is ear training. I strive to help students develop these skills as well.

absolutely wonderful.
Ozge Y.
She encourages, she finds analogies to explain, she is more patient with me then I am with myself. She also explains the terms, gives tips on how to read the notes. She is able to identify the mistakes and give the right advice on how to improve. Her advice on how to practice made all the difference for me. I started with a giant cookie bite sized embouchure and within a few lessons I have managed to make it smaller thanks to her instructions. There is hope for me afterall.
Looking forward to playing a duet with her without me making a mess. Thank you Amanda!
Mike
Amanda is an outstanding teacher. She inspires and challenges me to play pieces I did not think I could play. She is able to take difficult passages and break them down step my step so I can learn how to play them properly. I am sure I would not be playing as I am now, if it weren’t for Amanda’s skilled teaching. She is also friendly, makes the lessons interesting and fun and is very professional. I have taken lessons both in person and on Skype and she excels in both modes.

I have been teaching this subject for over 17 years. There is no specific curriculum as each student will come to lessons with their own unique skills, needs, and goals. Lessons are tailored to those specifics. Lessons involve building aural skills including interval and chord (triads and 7ths) identification, harmonic and melodic dictation, sight singing, and other exercises. Lessons are particularly useful in augmenting classroom study and performance projects.

About Troy

Composer Troy W. graduated from the New England Conservatory, earning his Bachelors, Masters (cum laude) and Graduate Diploma while studying with mentor Malcolm Peyton. Having a trained ear is important in the music world. Being able to read music is one thing, but being able to understand and hear the subtle differences between chord progressions, genres of music, and melodies makes improvising and playing with other musicians more "musical".

About Lorenzo

After having graduated from Berklee College of Music with a degree in Film Scoring in late 2013, I started off my career interning for film composer George S. Clinton (known for his work in the Austin Powers movie franchise). I quickly entered the video game industry after creating my own audio pro

Ear Training is a vital skill for all musicians. We'll explore different scales (major, minor, modes, pentatonic, octatonic, etc), chords, sight singing, and more. I rely heavily on songs that are commonly known (lullabys, pop songs, the students own musical preference) to teach dictation, chord recognition, interval recognition, and functional pitch recognition.

Ear training is a must for aspiring musicians of any instrument.

About Jon

I'm a professional performer, educator, and recording artist. I received my Masters in Music from New Mexico State University, and my BA and BME from the College of Wooster in Ohio. Students can expect to improve their technique and performing repertoire within a matter of weeks. We will collabo

"Fawn is great. She's reliable, punctual, smart, patient and great training me and my daughter how to sing on pitch. I can tell you that before Fawn, my daughter had 3 other vocal coaches and she was frustrated with little or no improvement. Once Fawn came into the picture, that all changed after the very first lesson! My daughter came home last night beaming because she got the LEAD, yes, the LEAD in her school musical. Something that has never happened and would have never happened without Fawn. We are sticking with her. I can't wait to see and hear my daughter and myself continually improve and become the best version we can of ourselves."
