I can't say enough good things about Earl's instruction. He's extremely knowledgeable and talented and yet responsive, inspiring, and kind. Rather than applying a narrow and rigid approach to teaching, lessons are built around my abilities and interests and he has taught me new ways of looking at music and playing guitar. I feel very fortunate to be one of his students.

Transcend the instrument and be able to play with anything. Learn your favorite tunes by ear and on the guitar. That is what I focus on. From beginning rudiments all the way through completely breaking down and conceptualizing the fretboard.

I've been playing for 20 years and have studied jazz at Peabody Conservatory and Berklee College of Music. However, I have played in bluegrass, rock, funk, hip hop and klezmer bands, as well.

I try to create an individual approach for each student because every person learns uniquely. I work with people on skills that apply to music at large, as well as the guitar 🎸. My goal is to help a student learn how to learn on their own, and provide the tools to do so.

"My 8 year old son had his first guitar lesson with Lonze last night and it was beyond amazing. Lonze is a wonderful teacher and extremely passionate about music. My son actually asked if he could have a 4 hour lesson from now on. :) He is beyond excited for his future lessons. We highly recommend Lonze."

"Jared is patient, encouraging, extremely knowledgable, and the perfect teacher for me. I had learned some chords from Youtube but Jared's style of teaching is to not only teach what you need to know now, but set up for later stages of guitar playing.
Jared breaks down songs into pieces, and provides a slowed down recording to play along with. I find this the absolute best part about practicing, to play along with Jared's recording. It also means if I haven't played a song for a while I can go back to the recording for the strum/structure.
Without Jared I don't think I would have stuck with the guitar, and after almost 18 months Jared is encouraging me to explore the electric guitar and take the lessons in a new direction.
There are regular performances with all the students, it's no pressure, and I haven't had one go perfectly yet while on the actual stage (in practice they are perfect) but they give students an opportunity to perform in an environment where they can make mistakes and just get out there and try it!

I would strongly recommend Jared as a guitar teacher - the recordings, the encouragement, the performances, he is a very dedicated teacher."

"I would very highly recommend Nick as a guitar teacher. I've been taking lessons for five weeks and he has already helped me a lot with my technique. He has a great combination of the knowledge of a professional musician and also the patience and guidance of a very experienced teacher.

I also like that he is helping me with ear training. I've had previous experience with reading music, but he is really expanding my horizons with listening to music and trying to figure it out by using basic principles. This is a way to learn that I hadn't experience before in guitar lessons in the past, and I think it's a great way to learn.

I'm looking forward to many more lessons to come. This has really helped me to enjoy playing the guitar again!"

"Blake is very patient with my son who has a short attention span. He will even go out of his way to find music that will inspire him instead of teaching the standards that would bore him to tears.
