Ear Training Lessons in Joppa. Amazing Teachers.

Ear training is an essential skill for instrument learning. From years of playing horn and conservatory theory, I have gained experience in aural recognition. We will work on prepared and sight-singing along with dictation as a fundamental part of the lesson.

I regularly tutor theory students at the University of Iowa. I can help you strengthen your written, aural and dictation skills.

Each lesson will focus on pitch differentiation sight singing simple melodies.

CANCELATION POLICY: Students must communicate any cancellations or adjustments 24 hours in advance to avoid charges. Any cancellations made to lessons within the 24 hour window will be charged if unable to reschedule within the same week.

From hearing individual notes in a string quartet piece or a vocal run, to picking out different instruments and different effects in a pop song, to anticipating complex harmony, I can help you improve your ear in any way you would like as a musician. I utilize my experience as a multi-instrumentalist to create a custom-curriculum for all levels.

My name is Dan G, and I have over 22 years of experience in teaching, performing and studying voice. I was a voice major in college, and I teach all styles, all levels, and all ages. I have studied, performed and recorded classical, pop, jazz, rhythm and blues, classic rock, country, folk, christian and other genres. I have performed for millions of viewers on television (11 times on NBC's Today show), radio, theater, and the stage. I've worked and recorded with many music producers including, David Foster and Jim Brickman.
