I am an entirely self taught blues/rock guitarist with experience playin in bands. I have an approach to teaching that is different from many regulay teachers. Being self taught, i have learned from trial and error how to keep inspiration while practicing techniques. In my opinion, the biggest setback for most future guitarists is lack of interest/inspiration wich is the direct result of poor teaching and unnecessary lessons.
About Kevin
I am entirely self taught through trial and error. I have a very simplistic way of thinking about music that is very effective for teaching. In my opinion, the biggest detriment to learning musicians is getting overwhelmed by the vastness of music.

Classical guitar students start with five subjects.
1) Technique is concerned with the development of the physical mechanics involved in playing the instrument.
2) Scales are a part of basic music vocabulary and building blocks of the musical language.
3) Chords are also basic vocabulary of the musical language.
4) Note reading is not required for every student. It really depends on the students' goals. However, I strongly encourage everyone learn to read musical notation, (more than tablature). Literacy in reading music is analogous to literacy in reading in our English language. Can you imagine how much smaller our world would be if we couldn't read?
5) Classical repertoire (songs) utilize the skills and concepts of all the previously mentioned subjects and are the goal of studying music. And by the way, they are really fun to play.
A beginning student will practice all these subjects as part of the daily practice routine. A half hour practice session will ...

About Gabriel
Most beginners I’ve encountered have no idea what they want to play or even why. my suggestion is before coming to your teacher pinpoint the what and the why. Why did you want to learn guitar? Was it a song, or a really cool sounding riff? Did you see someone play live and feel like “I could do th

I am 46 and have a musical background (I already play both piano and trombone). William has very effectively adapted his teaching to fit with the skills I already have. In some cases that means speeding up and in other cases going back to basics to make sure I have the fundamentals down.
His knowledge of music and musical instruments enables him to very effectively describe to experienced musicians how the guitar is different from what they are used to and what they'll need to pay attention to.
William has been very focused on the details of correct technique, preferring to slow down and work specific things rather than moving on or cutting corners for the sake of getting through the method materials. If you want to learn how to play completely, correctly, efficiently and without hurting yourself William is your teacher.
One of the things I appreciate the most is William's patience. He's a stickler for correct technique so he doesn't let errors slide, but he corrects in a way that is both helpful and encouraging. There's no bit of guidance that he's given me that, when I put it into practice, doesn't dramatically help my progress. I've learned in a very short time to really listen to him. He knows what he's talking about.
I can wholeheartedly recommend William to anyone wanting to learn to play guitar. He's one of the best music instructors I've ever had!
I'm happy to answer anyone's questions on my experiences with William or this review."

Ahmad is able to connect with his students to understand their goals and objectives with lessons. I appreciate how he is able to tailor his teaching style and method to each individual and adjust as needed. His knowledge of music is superb and his musical interests are wide. Ahmad can flex between jazz to classical guitar to the newest pop single as easily as changing radio stations.
As a classically trained musician he can not only play the music, but also knows the music theory. I look forward to my lessons every week, and I can't recommend Ahmad highly enough!"

As a teacher, Diego is very patient while encouraging me and knowing when the teaching pace should pick up or slow down. This makes his teaching very efficient while ensuring strong fundamentals.
I look forward to many more years of instruction by Diego and am happy to have found such a knowledgeable and skillful maestro."

Here, we'll share our top picks for classical guitar students to study and play. To study the classical guitar is a great and noble pursuit.
