Experienced guitar teacher of 23 years available for eager students of all experience levels and ages! I structure my lessons so students learn what they want to learn, while also building a strong foundation of classical guitar skills. I specialize in finger picking for classical, pop, rock, ETC...Typically use Hal Leonard books, and also have the following tools available to use during lessons: sound recording equipment, Guitar Amps, effect pedals, sheet music, and more.

I have been teaching guitar for 4 years now. As a beginner, we learn the very basics of guitar and music such as how to hold the guitar, notes on the guitar, and exercises. We go over timing, music theory, and technique. For intermediate players we sight read songs and practice more complicated music with multiple voices. I am flexible in terms of the skill level of my students. Every student I will be taught according to their skill level and needs.

Joseph is a classical Guitar Instructor who has had experience with several guitar students ages 7 and above. He covers everything from theory, technique and performing.

My goal as an instructor is to keep the lessons fresh, fun, interesting, and to ultimately guide the students to better teach themselves as they gain experience and familiarity with the instrument and music. Students can have their lessons catered to the music and styles they wish to pursue. Lessons are tailored to each individual student so that we can build upon their strengths and focus on lessons to improve weaker areas. Students will learn how to build dexterity, use proper technique, and be creative. Every student has different goals, some really want to learn theory and read music. Others may simply want to learn to strum a few chords. Whatever the goal, I can provide the instructions to help the student succeed!

Josh, multi-instrumentalist for Norah Jones and many others graduated Berklee College of Music in 1995. He has been playing professionally and teaching privately since then. He appears on albums by James Taylor, The Lemonheads and has performed live with everyone from Brian Wilson to Miley Cyrus.I offer private guitar lessons to students of all ages and skill levels in a fun and patient environment. I have a degree in music performance (Bachelor of Fine Arts, Northern Illinois University, 2007). At NIU, I was grateful to study under acclaimed jazz, classical and world-music guitarist Fareed Haque. Since then, I've toured the US, Europe, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Kenya and Uganda with the bluegrass group "Henhouse Prowlers", performed in countless rock bands, jazz combos, folk groups, classical ensembles and even worked as a jingle writer and producer.

My favorite things about working with students:
For my youngest students, I enjoy seeing the smiles that music brings and I love watching the "light bulb" turn on when a student gets a concept or nails a piece for the first time.

For my adult students, I love seeing their desire to continue learning at every stage of life. Their thirst for knowledge and openness to new ideas is a constant inspiration to me!

I started teaching online for many years & have really developed a very good method & fluid experience for taking effective lessons online which is unique to traditional lessons.

I absolutely love music foremost and really have embraced all styles over 30 years of playing. I genuinely enjoy sharing everything I know to help other’s get reach their goals.
