Zaky is great with my son who has a history of brain injury which causes him to have short term memory problems. In just a few weeks he has much more confidence in himself and is even a slight bit ahead in band class. He is now able to help some of the other students which he loves. There are very few things that at school that don't overwhelm him, and Zaky has helped him find success in music.

I have developed a natural teaching method that focuses on learning and understanding the building blocks of drum set playing, familiarizing and connecting these building blocks, and applying them to individual expression. I have the ability to take nearly anyone without prior drum set or rhythmic experience, and, within days, turn them into beat playing drummers! My approach focuses on:
-building an understanding and relationship with each drum
-the basic rudimentary foundation of drumming
-how to approach the drums, hold the sticks, set up the drums, and tune the drums
-basic mechanical techniques
-development of each limb
-learning how to read basic drum charts and play to them
-learning and playing the most significant beats and patterns in the history of drum set
-gaining the ability to effectively teach oneself how to improve as a drummer
-learning your favorite songs on drums
-how to play in a band

Mickey is an incredible teacher who has helped me grow immensely as a musician through their personalized and encouraging approach. Mickey met me exactly where I was at when I first started lessons and has known throughout our time together exactly where I need to be challenged and where I need extra support which has helped me better understand my own progress as a learner. I had been taking lessons with Mickey for a year in-person when we switched to virtual and the quality and attention to detail Mickey provides in our lessons has not been affected in the least. Mickey is a patient and engaging teacher and I can not recommend taking lessons with Mickey enough!
Catherine
Mickey is awesome! We only got the opportunity to do one in-person class before we had to go virtual, and she adopted very well and very quickly to that format. When I expressed frustration at how difficult it felt for me to learn certain things, she would quickly adjust her method or way of teaching that particular skill, or slow it down a bit and break it down more, so I was able to look at things from a different angle and more easily understand them. For me that's huge because I can get down on myself really easily if I don't pick something up quickly. I truly can't recommend her enough.
Michele.
Mickey is an exceptional teacher- patient and adaptable, she knows how to communicate precise technique down to the smallest detail. No small feat considering we’re working virtually. Each lesson feels like I’ve got more usable tools and techniques. She’s equally effective at explaining theory both abstract and in practical terms. Would highly recommend (and have already) to anyone thinking about hittin the drums.

The drums are the backbone of most music, so you have to be able to feel the groove and stay tight and on top of the beat. I encourage students to pick their favorite songs, and we drum to those while learning proper technique, rudiments, song form, fills, rhythm, different grooves / beats, and anything they want to know about the drums. I have been playing the drums for over sixteen years and have a Bachelor's Degree in Music from the Berklee College of Music. Drums is a beautiful art and form of expression and is just the tip of the iceberg we can tackle called Music.

"My 10 year old son started taking lessons with Craig about a year ago. The one thing we like the most is that he encourages and challenges our son to his maximum potential. Craig has been very flexible and during the most challenging time he stick with us. Since the shut down we have been doing virtual classes. I would definitely recommended Craig for anyone that would like learn how to play drums- his being very patient with our beginner drummer."

Other teachers just didn't "get it" when teaching a young, active boy. "Seth is NOT your run of the mill drummer or teacher. Re-read that a few times as I cannot stress this enough. He is not going to take some cookie-cutter approach and teach you the latest beat you heard on the radio. Seth has pushed his own abilities to the elite upper echelons of drumming and has verifiable world records and performances to back that up. Seth is a meticulous individual and that translates into his approach to music and how he teaches that to his students. I have known Seth for years, studied his material (and continue to do so), and know plenty of professionals in the music industry. Seth is in a league of his own and will help you reach your own apex if you are willing to make the commitment to what he says. Get on the waitlist if that even exists, trust me."

"I started studying with Dave at the young age of 15. Under his care, he instilled in me a passion for music and the drums that I don’t think I would’ve gotten anywhere else. Because of him, I entered into Berklee College of Music as a competent MUSICIAN, never mind drummer. If you’re serious about learning how to play drums, you want an instructor whose passion is infectious, who will inspire you to want to get better after every lesson. I can’t recommend anyone higher than I recommend Dave."
