Raycurt is not only knowledgeable, he is extremely skilled. He is thorough and maximizes time by providing superb instruction. My son looks forward to attending his classes; and I am a parent who is beyond pleased with Raycurt’s level of expertise.

This was a really unfortunate and wasted experience. Raycurt was wildly unprepared to teach. He brought a broken metronome and almost no sheet music/lesson plan. I had spoken both to the sales rep and Raycurt himself prior to the lesson and he was still fully unprepared.

I also explained my level of experience and was assured Raycurt was qualified to teach at the level I needed, but he came off as less knowledgable than me, which was particularly disappointing.

Worst of all, after multiple hours of speaking on the phone, I couldn't get my money back for this lesson.

I'd strongly recommend not using takelessons at all, they've put a horrible taste in my mouth for their entire service.

So far so good. First meeting jitters are over. Kevin has a nice calm about him which makes it easy to listen. I've got some homework and looking forward to my next lesson.

Kevin is wonderful to work with. Very knowledgeable, very calm, pleasant personality. He wanted to know first what I wanted to do, but was prepared to start me with the basics - scales - which is where I want to be proficient, so that I can master the instrument. I have no doubt that I can do that with Kevin. Just spent a few minutes practicing my C-major scale using the L-R-R-L-L method. Works great! I just checked email and he'd sent me the printouts he promised. Looking forward to next week!

Teaching students how to play with bands and read music are both important. I've played over 30 years and taught over 20 of those years. Grooves, coordination, reading and soloing are all aspects of what I teach from mostly my own books. I combine having fun with the commitment of practicing into a well rounded learning experience. I have recitals for students to show off their talents 1-2 times yearly. I'm versatile in teaching new drummers or advanced students. I look forward to our lessons.

About Danny

I've played drums about 30 years and taught lessons about 20 of those years. Each student is different and I've evolved my lessons to accommodate teaching each student. My background consists of all styles of Drumset, marching band, rock bands, soloing and Troopers drum corps. Also playing in jazz,

"Mark rocks!

Mark’s incredible skill as a drummer is only matched by his abilities as a teacher. In just a short time with Mark’s instruction, I have made vast improvements in my drumming. At my first lesson with Mark, he determined my skill level and what I sought to achieve with my lessons. Almost immediately, the fundamentals Mark showed me were translating into my drumming with my band. Mark has opened doors in my playing that I didn’t know existed. Mark is incredibly patient and really cares about ensuring I receive significant benefit from my lessons. Mark really goes out of his way to make sure I fully grasp everything he shows me. I would highly recommend Mark for anyone who wants to learn from a true master at his craft and from a teacher who takes pride in his students and his teaching. Thank you Mark!!"

On any given night, many talented drummers and musicians can be heard all around the city. s drummers.

Local drummers are an important influence not only in the realm of performing, but also as teachers and friends. Growing up in the Twin Cities, I’ve been able to hone my chops with truly inspirational drumming mentors (Steve Roehm, Phil Hey, Dave Hagedorn) while hearing awesome stories and making great friends along the way. And now that I teach drum lessons in Minneapolis, I have the opportunity to inspire students and share the knowledge that I have learned along the way.

In addition to all of the music venues in Minneapolis, the nearby Ellis Drum Shops offer another fantastic avenue for bringing together the local drumming community. The drum shops frequently host clinics from drumming legends and massive product giveaways, while also providing an environment for drummers to learn and share ideas with one another. If you are taking drum lessons in Minneapolis then you will no doubt benefit from the plethora of resources available here. No matter the time or place, Minneapolis continues to provide the perfect environment for countless local drummers to learn, grow, and find inspiration.

5 Best Drum Books for Beginners

Learning to play the drums is not something you can do in a single day or a single lesson. Drumming is an art form, in many ways, and it takes time to develop. Beginner drummers can get frustrated easily, but stick with it and you’ll be playing the drums (and playing them well!) sooner than you might think.
