Ear Training is a must for learning any musical Instrument. During the course of Guitar, Piano and Vocal Lessons, if chosen, I train the student to listen to specific musical relationships that guide the students ears to hear and understand note, chord and scale fundamentals that are that are used in many song formats. Integrating ear training with instrument and vocal training enhances the teaching process quite a bit. If ear training is desired on its own, I use a piano to provide a complete understanding of relative and absolute pitch fundamentals.

I teach ear training from beginner to advanced levels. We will learn methods such as solfege and how to navigate intervals of scales. In addition we will learn how to accurately sight read, hear intervals, chords, inversions and harmony.

I studied solfeggio as a kid and in college. Can practice dictations, harmony exercises etc.

I structure my lessons so students learn what they want to learn, while also building a strong foundation of technique including breathing and exercises designed to improve strength, power, and range while decreasing tension in the jaw, face, and throat. I specialize in teaching students to relax and to not sing from the throat and chest. For non-singers I can focus solely on ear training and pitch matching which is often necessary for auditions and performing on other instruments as well as voice.
