Private Classical Guitar Teacher

Guitar lessons with me are unique because although I am young, I am a very experienced teacher already. I started learning guitar at 10 years old. By the time I was 16 I was gigging and teaching kids in my neighborhood and any Craigslist clients I could find. At 18, I took a 1.5 year program at the Los Angeles College of Music, where I graduated with an AA in guitar performance. Since then I have worked as a professional musician, and also as a teacher /consultant with Adopt the Arts, a non profit started by Matt Sorum (drummer of Guns N Roses, Hollywood Vampires) and director Abby Berman. In my time at Adopt the Arts I have amassed over 4000 teaching hours of teaching kids ages 4-13, so I am very experienced with kids and get along with them great since. I have also been giving other private lessons to people of all ages since 2011. Qualities that make me stand out as a teacher are relatability, patience, and an ability to identify the proper pace for the student to enjoy the ...

Taught at the basic level very well. If you know nothing about music or guitar Tommy's your guy. Goes through all the simple steps at an even pace making the entire experience relaxing. From there giving you the knowledge of your scales and blues scales, teaching you how to make mini solos on the spot really helps out with the musicality of it all. 10/5

Tommy has provided music lessons to both of my children for the past 3 years. He is a very nurturing and patient teacher. Both my children enjoy having music time with Mr. Drinkard.

I am a 30 year old software engineer that wanted to start learning guitar as my 2016 new year's resolution. Heard about Tommy through a friend and I've been taking consistent lessons ever since and progressed a lot. He is knowledgeable, patient, and just a genuinely good/funny guy to be around.

Private Classical Guitar Teacher

A multi-instrumentalist, Cole teaches piano, guitar, ukulele, and bass. In addition to teaching, he also is a singer/songwriter, producer, and recording studio owner. He is currently working on his degree in Music at the University of Southern California . Although Cole didn’t grow up in a musical family, he discovered The Beatles when he was 6 years old. From that moment on, he was hooked. He knew that he wanted to be a guitarist and songwriter!
Cole began taking private guitar lessons in Thousand Oaks at age 7. He studied with the same teacher for 11 years! In that time, he also learned to play the piano, ukulele, bass, drums, percussion, and studied singing. An avid and eager student, Cole also began studying random instruments here and there. He even learned to play the harmonica! Because he knew he wanted to be a professional musician, he started recording his own albums at the age of 9.
Cole started teaching guitar lessons in the 8th grade as part of a “start your own business”

About Cole

Hi everyone, my name is Cole! I've been a rock-n-roller since I was 6 years old. I love playing guitar, piano, bass, drums, and singing. As well I love writing songs. I've been teaching all these instruments to dozens of students since I was in the 8th grade and love educating the future of music (

I took lessons from Cole last year in hopes to get a better feel for understanding the major/minor scales for lead guitar. I've been playing rhythm guitar for decades and wanted to work my way into playing lead guitar. He asked a ton of questions on what I wanted to accomplish and dialed in his lessons to address these needs. Great teacher and was always on time! I can truly say I am a better guitar player due to my time spent with Cole.

Want to play your favorite songs? Want to write your own? While focusing primarily on technique and theory, we'll also spend at least part of each lesson being creative together, whether improvising, or writing something, or just playing a game, because I believe that to be a well-rounded musician is to know how to communicate one's own ideas fluently. We'll also explore a variety of styles, including rock, country, pop, folk, and jazz, and we will learn songs both using a pick and using the fingers. I can also teach students to actually read music and not just tablature, if they're interested in exploring jazz and classical music. Message me today to see if we'd be a good match!

About Kyle

I am a professional violinist, violist, guitarist, pianist, composer, and educator. In addition to recording and touring with my own bands, I regularly arrange and record strings for artists and producers in a wide range of styles, from underground rappers to indie rock bands to grammy winning pop

"I feel it's safe to say that Jason would be a great teacher for anyone. I am a 78 yr old who has been self-teaching classical/fingerstyle for years but to really make progress I need instruction from a good teacher. I had my first lesson with Jason and am confident that he will prove to be the right instructor for me. He is extremely skilled, versatile, patient, and definitely personalizes his instruction for the student. I am more enthused about playing than I’ve been for years – and only after one lesson!!"

I admit that the demands of everyday life can get in the way of my goal of being a musician, but Keith has brought me so very far.His empathy and professionalism has helped me to begin to overcome performance anxiety. "Justin is an excellent teacher!! He is a master guitarist, always punctual, very courteous and gives 100% to my lesson. I am learning classical guitar and jazz guitar with him and I am delighted with the progress I've made in just a few months. I am playing beautiful songs and before his lessons I could not play any classical guitar songs at all. Justin tailors the lessons to help me learn the songs I am excited about learning to play. I most highly recommend him as a teacher for any style guitar. Amazingly he also teaches ukulele and mandolin too! He has a degree from Cal Poly in music and guitar and has over 20 years teaching experience. If you really want to learn how to play guitar easily and quickly, take lessons with him!"

Learning Classical Guitar: Can I Use Tabs or Should I Read Music?

Whether you're brand new to guitar, or just new to classical guitar, you might be wondering, "what's the deal with tabs and sheet music?" Let guitar teacher Raymond L. clear up the fog and put you on the right path to classical guitar success... To get started, let's be sure to clearly distinguish standard musical notation from what we call nowadays "tab" notation. What is Tab? The name tab, or guitar tab, is derived from tablature, a form of musical notation indicating fingering an …
