I’ll be your guide to the world of drums and percussion.

Can teach a variety of styles and techniques, including but not limited to: stick control, independence, phrasing, linear patterns, composition, rock, funk, jazz, and R&B.

I have 17 years experience performing drum set, hand drums, mallets and many other percussion instruments. I received a Bachelor's in Music for Percussion Performance and Music Education from the Sacramento State School of Music and I received my Master's in Music for Percussion Performance from the University of Nevada, Reno. I have experience teaching in public schools (high school and middle school levels), the collegiate level, music camps, and I have maintained a private studio for over two years. I have a method of teaching based on what you want to learn while also going over technique, posture, musicianship and music theory. My teaching is based entirely on the student as many people have different ways of learning so I do my best to make myself clear. My goal is to make lessons fun and informative, so let's enjoy the journey of making music!

My music lessons are fun and educational. Students are busy and dealing with life. Music should not be another thing you "get through". Whether you're young and dealing with multiple subjects in school or you're an adult with a job and responsibilities, music should be the place to escape all of that. I want to teach you whatever you would like to learn and develop a curriculum based on your own wants.

As a pro-level bass player, I understand the importance and the roll of the drum set in a band. I can help you coordinate your limbs, perfect your beats, improve your timing, and read rhythms...one step at a time.

I'm a full time touring musician, I studied music in school for 8 years, but I can honestly say I've learned more about music through my years as a touring musician. I find great joy in sharing all the things I've learned over the years.

I like getting to know my students; their expectations and goals as an aspiring drummer, and I build my curriculum around their needs.
