I'm not young, and I'm hard to teach music theory to, but he was patient, and is helping me figure a way into learning important stuff that I find kinda dry and not fun to practice. (I'm a good player, but music theory is very challenging to me.)

I have 17 years experience performing drum set, hand drums, mallets and many other percussion instruments. I received a Bachelor's in Music for Percussion Performance and Music Education from the Sacramento State School of Music and I received my Master's in Music for Percussion Performance from the University of Nevada, Reno. I have experience teaching in public schools (high school and middle school levels), the collegiate level, music camps, and I have maintained a private studio for over two years. I have a method of teaching based on what you want to learn while also going over technique, posture, musicianship and music theory. My teaching is based entirely on the student as many people have different ways of learning so I do my best to make myself clear. My goal is to make lessons fun and informative, so let's enjoy the journey of making music!

Vir is beyond your typical vocal coach. He was a huge help on things like pitch accuracy and phrasing, but more than anything, his focus on getting me to tap into and harness my inner power has already paid huge dividends in my recordings and performances. Further, Vir is an amazing person to know and his home-studio in Berkeley is magnificent!

I have worked and continue to play professionally but sporadically.
My playing has been transformed from studying with David.
One lesson with David changed the way I played with drumsticks.
He taught me how to hold the sticks and release the tension which held me back and hurt my sense of time.
David does not just teach technique.
His heart and soul and brilliant concepts are generously shared in a non threatening, non judgemental lesson.
The lessons seem to be life lessons.
He gets into your head and guides you to become a great musical player.
David helps you strip away your ego.
I feel so empowered working with David.
I am talking about three lessons that have changed my playing forever.
I believe he is the most proficient instructor I have worked with.
I believe he can help any musician at any level of experience.
David Rozenblatt is a total game changer.
I will continue to study with David to apply his principles. I am a better player with his intuitive guidance.
Thank you David."

My son started with Michael when he entered 6th grade and is now a Junior playing for Marina HS Marching Band, Drum line, Symphonic Band, and Jazz Band.
If you have the time and sit in a lesson with your children, you will soon realize that your money is well spent...not a wasted minute in that 1/2 hour lesson."
