I aim to help my students carve out their unique sound behind the kit. Online lesson material will be provided to students at no extra cost.

I follow a mindfulness based approach to teaching which includes breathing techniques, body connections and fluidity with all aspects of drumming. Finding how each student learns most effectively, i.e. auditory, visual, kinesthetic, hybrid I develop a range of practice techniques to being each student to their maximum potential. Rooted in classical and world music I have the tools to teach any style of music on drum kit or hand drums. In addition, I have over 15 years of experience working at the United Nations International School in New York City.

Whether your goal is to join your first band, lay down electronic beats for EDM, get better in your current band or church ministry, my goal is to help you excel quicker and better than you ever could by doing it alone.

I am a pretty serious drummer and accept students who are serious about their craft. You don't have to be incredible - but you do have to want to improve and have the dedication to study, practice, and perform. Oh, and we have a TON OF FUN along the way!

LEVELS ...

Wide variety of styles/genres:
e.g. Rock, Swing, Latin, etc.
Includes all snare rudiments, as well as full trap-kit exercises.
Familiarization of multiple time signatures.

I have developed a natural teaching method that focuses on learning and understanding the building blocks of drum set playing, familiarizing and connecting these building blocks, and applying them to individual expression. I have the ability to take nearly anyone without prior drum set or rhythmic experience, and, within days, turn them into beat playing drummers! My approach focuses on:
-building an understanding and relationship with each drum
-the basic rudimentary foundation of drumming
-how to approach the drums, hold the sticks, set up the drums, and tune the drums
-basic mechanical techniques
-development of each limb
-learning how to read basic drum charts and play to them
-learning and playing the most significant beats and patterns in the history of drum set
-gaining the ability to effectively teach oneself how to improve as a drummer
-learning your favorite songs on drums
-how to play in a band

I have a Drumset at my studio and can get you started with the rudiments and basic drumming skills.
