Harp Lessons in Wellsboro. Amazing Teachers.

I teach beginning and intermediate students on harp. I have been teaching and performing on harp for 15 years. I use the Suzuki Harp Method and Play the Harp Beautifully as my standard textbooks.

Harp:
A stringed musical instrument that has a number of individual strings running at an angle to its soundboard; the strings are plucked with the fingers. Harps have been known since antiquity in Asia, Africa and Europe, dating back at least as early as 3500 BC. The instrument had great popularity in Europe during the Middle Ages and Renaissance, where it evolved into a wide range of variants with new technologies, and was disseminated to Europe's colonies, finding particular popularity in Latin America. We will start by learning how to tune, seating and hand/plucking placement. I have an easy to follow technique where you will learn the strings, notes, how to read music, rhythms, plucking techniques, and songs. As the student advances theory and soloing will be incorporated.

The harp has honestly taught me so many valuable lessons and I would not be the same person without it. I highly recommend it because it is a glorious instrument that will change your life. You will learn technique, theory, dynamics, and different styles of playing the harp. Anyone can play the harp regardless of age. I would say a lesson with me is encouraging, yet challenging. I would you to fall in love with the harp, just as much as I am in love with it and I also want you to feel as though you are being stretched. Happy harping!
