Influenced by country music artists like Carrie Underwood and Faith Hill, along with pop icons Kelly Clarkson and Adele, Carolyn has used her big, powerful voice to create her own style that captures the true essence of country-pop. She released her debut EP in 2018 independently, which peaked during pre-order at #7 on iTunes Country charts. Since then, she has opened for artists such as Chase Rice, Ashley McBryde, Walker Hayes, and kicked off NY’s Country 94.7 Stars and Strings event at the Barclays Center starring Sam Hunt, Dustin Lynch, Chris Janson, Runaway June, and more.
Carolyn released her highly anticipated single in 2019, and the track was named one of the Top 15 Songs at CMA Fest 2019 with features in Hollywood Life, Celebuzz, among others. Her last single was released to critical acclaim, with features in Taste of Country, The Boot, Sounds Like Nashville, and the music video was added into rotation on The Country Network. I played a little guitar throughout my life but was lacking an understanding of how the instrument works. I found myself strumming a few cords here and there but never with focus or improvement. After only three lessons with Paul, I'm now jamming to rock and the blues!Paul was quickly able to access my level of playing and I'm now understanding how the fretboard works and most importantly having lots of fun during lessons and practice. He teaches with passion and doesn't simply open a book but rather instills his lifelong experience and philosophy into lessons. Many can teach the mechanics of guitar but with Paul, you'll also understand the soul.
I just had my 2nd lesson with Paul and felt inspired to write a review. I have wanted to learn guitar for many, many years now. In the past, I have always gotten frustrated -or bored- and gave up before I ever even learned a chord. Our 1st lesson, Paul started me with some very basic mechanics. It was just the right amount of information to keep me interested and challenged but not so much that I was overwhelmed the 1st week. From just 15 -30 minutes a day of practicing, I have already gained some flexibility in my fingers and am beginning to have a "feel" for the instrument. I have seen more improvement and learned more from Paul and the exercises he has given me in just 2 lessons than I have collectively ever learned from any other teacher in the past or any book or online tutorial. His knowledge of the instrument, as well as music theory, is vast and he knows how to break it down into digestible bits for maximum benefit to the student. So I am not only learning to play guitar, I am also being introduced to music theory in a very easy to understand manner. He is very patient and creates a safe and supportive environment in which to learn comfortably. I am SO glad I found him!!! His way of teaching really works or me ~ I feel hopeful, inspired and motivated for the first time ever in attempting to learn this instrument. Thank you Paul and Thank You Take Lessons !!

When you're learning how to write a song, looking at how other songs are structured can be a great place to start. Like looking at a map before you go on a roadtrip, checking out the basic elements of songs you love gives you a sense of how they were written and what you need to do to write a song of your own. If analyzing all your favorite songs sounds like a daunting task (it is), you're in luck. The Billboard Experiment wanted to know if there was a formula that could determine which songs …
