He really knows his music and can teach in a way that gets my son directly into actually playing music, which is exactly what I was after.
He’s really flexible and can take anything and turn it into something good.
The pace was spot-on, matching perfectly the maximum my son could understand at the time.
I think my son learnt the absolute maximum he could in that short space of time and he learned a LOT.

I have a background in fundamental rhythm, rather than teaching the student to simply play, I teach them to read and write their own rhythms and drum beats in a fun and hands-on manner using methods that music teachers around the country use in their classrooms. Furthermore, I have years of experience teaching children as young as 4 years old from their very first lesson. I’ve developed my own method for children to read drum music using simple and an easy to understand rhythmic language.

Gabe is a great teacher to get students started learning their basic skills on piano, drums, guitar or bass. He is really patient and takes the time to make sure the student really learns each specific skill. Gabe picks out exercises that make learning new skills fun and even arranges the students favorite pop tunes to help fit in with the skills being taught. Gabe really makes lessons fun and helps students learn the songs that keep them excited about playing!!"

Michael has been a great teacher to my 5-year old. My son and I both came to him with no experience with drums/music education and Michael was able to teach my son in a way that was fun and kept the attention of a 5 year old, while still being able to grasp the concepts and foundations of music. As a parent, I admired his enthusiasm and excitement of my sonâs progression. He is very passionate about what he does and it is exemplified through his lessons. My son truly enjoys the lessons and even practices on his own throughout the week and this is definitely attributable to Michaelâs instruction style and passion for his craft. I would absolutely recommend Michael as a teacher."

I felt so comfortable with her as a teacher (and a person) I also had her teach my youngest son (who was 11 at the time).
She never missed an appointment, and was always on time (very important for a drummer)"

I have had many different types of music teachers through out my life and Mark is by far the best. He is very serious about helping his students do what they want to do. I had specific goals I wanted to accomplish. Mark took my goals seriously and did what he could to help me understand the techniques to be a good drummer. He broke things down in to little steps that helped me to practice on my own and figure specific drum patterns out, He gave me the tools to improve myself as a musician, Mark did not have to but he chose to put a lot of his own time in to teaching me what I wanted to learn He obviously cares about his students and takes them seriously. I highly recommend him to any future students"

Want to play faster and improve your drum technique? Try these tips from Detroit, MI teacher Joshua J. to make your drum practice more effective. When it comes to learning drums, there are five questions you should ask yourself: 1. What am I learning and why? 2. Is this natural or forced? (is it relaxed or tense?) 3. Is it easy as pie? If not, then why? 4. Am I making progress? 5. Does it sound the way I want it to? Speed is a big thing for drummers. It’s impressive and it jus …
