For most of us drummers and rhythmatists we cannot go an hour without banging something or tapping or humming or moving.. if this describes you or your child then Im the guy who would be delighted to foster your development in your lifelong pursuit of the ultimate beat. I cannot give you God given talent , but I can take what talent god has given you and accentuate the positive. Work with you on fundamentals, technique, timbre, timing, tuning, sight reading..the list goes on..Its a lifelong pursuit..How long you choose to pursue it is up to you.. Im here to be your mentor.

Im pretty laid back with teaching discipline. Either you got it or you dont. I cannot push you or force you into practicing.. You must inherently love music and love rhythm and love drumming or percussion. If I am working with you on Kit drumming you will be starting out with the basics unless you have experience. I normally do an assessment to determine where you are at.. If I am teaching you hand percussion or African or Asian based drums then its strictly an aural based learning experience. No books just memorization. Kit drumming will require either you have your own Drum kit if I am coming to your house or of you travel to my studio I will have 1 drum kit to share , but you must have your own sticks. I do employ books in Drum Kit lessons. I will give you the names of the books based on what I think your level is and we can go from there..

Music is a complex yet beautiful language. Once you are immersed in the culture of the beat your journey thus begins. And journeys like these last a lifetime. I hope I can be a part of your experience.

Many Blessings
One Rhythm
One Love

Teaching students how to play with bands and read music are both important. I've played over 27 years and taught over 17 of those years. Grooves, coordination, reading and soloing are all aspects of what I teach from mostly my own books. I combine having fun with the commitment of practicing into a well rounded learning experience. I have recitals for students to show off their talents 1-2 times yearly. I'm versatile in teaching new drummers or advanced students. I look forward to our lessons.

About Danny
I've played drums about 30 years and taught lessons about 20 of those years. Each student is different and I've evolved my lessons to accommodate teaching each student. My background consists of all styles of Drumset, marching band, rock bands, soloing and Troopers drum corps. Also playing in jazz, concert and orchestra bands gave me opportunity to perform and compete many places including P.A.S., scoring a 1 @ state and G.C. drum off. I took private lessons for a few years before leaving to college in Hollywood, CA, attending M.I.(Musicians Institute) with one of my instructors becoming the current drummer for Korn, "Ray Luzier". I now teach mostly out of my own books on how to read music, coordination, grooves, soloing and playing with bands. If you are not local, I offer online lessons too. I have 1-2 recitals each year and make it pos
sible for online students to participate. Accepting beginner to advanced drummers, come check it out.

Any genre, any song. Teaching for 20 years. I tailor each lesson to the needs/goals of every student.

For beginners, I can write easy versions of your favorite songs for you, while giving you a well balanced music education.

For more advanced players, I can show you how to play almost any drum part, and show you tips on how to figure out drum parts by ear and make your own.

Since I play other instruments, I can show you how to jam to anything and sound good while having a blast!

For children, I make lessons fun and varied with learning and musical games to keep them excited and engaged.

For everyone, I can teach you the most efficient ways to learn any musical skill based on experience and leading scientific books on learning, while keeping lessons fun!

About Mike
I've studied piano and other instruments for 30 years, have been teaching music for 20, and have been a full time professional musician and music teacher for 11 years.

As a musician who was raised on classical piano but has also spent his life playing in bands, jamming, and composing in several genres, I believe that a well-rounded musical education is not only practical, but that it brings out the most enjoyment in music.

I also believe in teaching students whatever they love whether it's classical, rock, pop, jazz, world music, or a mix of everything! The more they love it, the more they will practice, and in turn the more they will love how they have improved - a circle of awesomeness!

As a professional musician, I play over 130 shows a year throughout North America as lead singer-guitarist for Celtic Rock group The Whiskeydicks, a
s the touring pianist for classical crossover group Vivace, as a solo singer-guitarist-pianist, and as the lead singer-guitarist-pianist-composer for my own symphonic-rock-fusion group, The Living. I've also toured extensively in Europe as keyboardist and backing vocalist for singer-songwriter Melanie Dekker.

My compositions have been performed by the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra, The Plastic Acid Orchestra, Turning Point Ensemble, Ad Mare Wind Quintet, Vivace, The Living, The Whiskeydicks and cellist-singer-songwriter Cris Derksen.

I have a B.Mus in Piano and Music Composition from The University of British Columbia. I'm an IVA Certified Level I Voice Instructor and have studied Vocals with John Henny, Jeffrey Skouson, Guy Babusek, and Spencer Welch; piano with Terence Dawson, David Vandereyk, and Ross Taggart; composition with Dorothy Chang, Keith Hamel, and Armanini; drums with Jay Deachman and Morgan Childs; bass with David Spidel; and accordion with Jelena Milojevic.

I've just moved to LA from Vancouver where I had about 40 students, so this is the time to sign up as I have room for new students for the first time in years!

Learn the basics of playing drum set and how to play in a band. I can teach you where to use fills in songs and what role drums play in a group.

About Ulises
I have played trumpet for 15 years, and taught lessons for 5 years. I hold a Bachelor's Degree in trumpet performance from Idaho State University, and a Master's Degree in trumpet performance from the prestigious Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University.

As a student who has overcome tension and anxiety, I can pinpoint any causes for these problems that a student may have. I am very understanding and I know that each student learns differently. I believe that music making should be fun, and I can help your playing be effortless so you can enjoy every moment of playing the instrument.

I have been contracted by several orchestras in Idaho in the past, and I have played professionally for memorial day services. I have played in brass quintets and am familiar with playing the correct style in a jazz setting.

Recently, I self produced
my own EP.

As an educator, I strive to provide my students with the tools that they will need to explore the direction that they want to take with their instrument. This can include from enjoying drumming as a hobby, performing in small jazz ensembles, recording electronic and acoustic drums in major recording studios, to performing with a full orchestra! There is literally no limit to what you can do.

My focus is to get hobbyists to enjoy performing drums in the comfort of their own home or with friends, and to have my professionally-minded students go out into the world of performing and recording music. All of these environments are where the ultimate joy of playing an instrument can be expressed.

As a gigging and studio musicians, I understand what it takes to get to the stage or studio, apply oneself in that environment, and come away with a satisfying experience that you can then build upon for the rest of your life.

About James
Hi! I have been a drumset educator for over 3 decades. I benefited from formal education on the drumset, and I want to pass that along to you so you can experience the full joy that this wonderful instrument can bring you! I understand that each student's journey is specific to them as an individual. As such I tailor my teaching to the direction that they want to go with drumming.

Jim has been a fantastic teacher to our son. He explains everything patiently and approaches his lessons very systematically. He selects songs that incorporate essential drumming skills (e.g. songs that include doubles, paradiddles, accented notes, etc.). This way, the the student is able to develop an understanding of how theory fits practice.

Drums were my first instrument. I can teach you to play whatever style you want on drums. You only have to put in the practice.

About Theodore
I'm a composer, pianist/keyboardist, and drummer who likes to think out-of-the-box, but not without knowing what it's like to have been in the box. Everyone has to figure out what they want for themselves, and everyone has a different journey to figuring out what they want. In teaching composition, piano and drum performance, I'm here to tailor music lessons to the individual, based on what inspires that person most, and what they want to accomplish most musically.

Since age 14, I've played thousands of stages across the US with different gospel artists, was commissioned by the Grand Rapids Symphony of Grand Rapids, Michigan, and the West Michigan Flute Orchestra, scored a film by Symmetry Films, and scored multiple theatre productions. And after all that, my number one goal through music is to help people find what inspires them.

Theo is the perfect instructor for returning to playing piano as an adult. Amazingly, the first lesson incorporated a balance of theory, flow, feel, sight reading, ear training, and a number of helpful exercises. Thats all just in an hour. Theo has a range of expertise in performance, composition, and instruction that spans across the musical map. Grateful to have found this instructor and have weekly sessions to build my skills and repertoire. Cannot recommend him more highly☀️

Our two sons (10 and 8) had lessons with Theo for two years. Having worked with several music teachers with our older children, I can say with honesty that Theo is the most effective instructor I've known. he's very attentive to students' individual approaches, and structures lessons around specific interests and needs. For instance, one of our kids showed a strong interest in composition, so Theo helped him record his ideas, then they transcribed the music together. Both of our children grew quickly in skill and understanding during their time with Theo. We look forward to connecting with him again on this platform!

I have had 19 years of extensive training behind the drum set and all general percussion instruments such as: mallet instruments, timpani, snare drum, and auxiliary percussion. I received my BA in general music with a focus in percussion from Brevard College. I have been a guest in the Spartanburg Symphony Orchestra as well as many church orchestras/ensembles across the south east. I am a full time musician with thousands of hours of field experience as well as a large amount of teaching experience in people ages 5-40.

About Gavin Glover
Hello potential student or parent! I'm so excited that you've reached my profile for quite a few reasons:
I am a full time musician with a BA in General Music with a focus in percussion and a secondary in piano from Brevard College. I've been an elementary general music teacher, taught high school percussion sections, worked with children with special needs, played in a variety of orchestras, jazz bands, corporate bands, cover bands, and i've logged over 2,000 hours of studio recording time. I'm also in the process of starting my Masters of Percussion Performance very soon. To me, it's equally as important that I learn with and from my students to assist me in becoming the absolute best teacher I can be regardless of age or learning needs. On top of all of that, I don't think anyone should have to break the bank to learn an instrument.
My rates are very fair and i'm not just here to collect a check. Instead I want to create a world full of versatile musicians to develop skills that can translate to having good grades, finding a good job, and learning how to communicate in the real world. Music can do that with the right instruction. It's my goal to serve my students in a way that they can not only be more confident behind an instrument, but to truly love the craft I've dedicated my life to.
