Kept missing class without any heads up so I had to just wait around and hope he'll show up, ignored my calls and messages to reschedule, so I had to just get a refund from TakeLessons. As a teacher he is good, but very unprofessional behavior in terms of accountability and respect for students' time.

Patient, focused, encouraging and time efficient. He was good at keeping our youngster on task and making the experience fun. Wish he was able to take our child further with piano. I don't know how much was Tyler and how much was our child, but our kiddo learned quickly from Tyler. Thank you Tyler!

David is a very skilled drummer and a very enthusiastic teacher. In lessons, he seems to like to split time between practicing rudiments and learning to play different rhythms on the set. He is also exceptionally patient and supportive with my 9-year-old, highly distractible daughter. David is very positive, pointing out things that are going well and interesting rhythms that they discover. I am really glad we found David--he is an excellent teacher and I love watching my daughter learn so much about music!

I teach lessons to any grade/age group. I have an extremely open mind to teaching and music in general, so nothing goes out the door in terms of philosophy, however, I've come to realize that some methods work better than others. That said, I tailor my attention and focus as an educator to the needs of student I'm teaching in front of me. I don't consider the student who just walked out of the lesson or the student who is coming in next. I put my all in the student who is in front of me because I believe time is an essential asset to lessons. Also, every case is so uniquely different in terms of students and I take a good amount of time to calibrate the learning style of every student.

About Matt
I am passionate instructor who is fueled by seeing success in others. No other feeling is more fulfilling then seeing the growth of another human.

I have been teaching private lessons in my own studio for about 8 years now. I've taught 7 marching bands and currently writing music for some with an emphasis in percussion.

Currently pursuing a degree in Music Business at Northern Illinois University. I've participated in Drum Corp. tours such as Colts Drum & Bugle Corps ('13) and Phantom Regiment ('14-'16), and also marched 5 seasons of WGI with Cavaliers Indoor Percussion.

I graduated from the University of Oregon with a Bachelor's in Jazz Studies, and have been teaching private drum lessons for over a decade. My lessons are tailored to achieve YOUR goals, and I design a unique lesson plan to fit your learning style. I have experience working with every age group, and have even coached school ensembles, and given clinics about a variety of music topics.

MY TEACHING PHILOSOPHY

I strongly believe that playing music should be nothing but pure joy. Learning to play the drums is simply the process of training your body and mind to better express yourself using rhythm and timbre. This process can vary greatly from person to person, and the end result is different for everyone. Although the process of learning anything can feel like a chore at times, I believe every moment of study should be designed to achieve your personal goals. The learning process should be fun, and easy to navigate. Playing music becomes more fun the better you get, and the path to

About Adam
Hey drummers! I love music, and the only thing I love better is sharing the art of making music with you! I feel that drums are the backbone of music and that rhythm is essential to synchronizing all the emotions we express through music. My 9-year old son recently started taking lessons with Adam. I had to find a new instructor after his previous instructor move out of the area. I'm really happy that we found Adam. He's a great guy and as an instructor he's very patient and brings a plan to each lesson. He splits the lesson among exercises to build limb independence, practice with metronome to develop consistent timing, and playing along songs (picked with input from my son). Adam also makes it easy to schedule lessons based on our needs and is very responsive via email and phone/text.

I hadn't had a music lesson in about 35 years, so I wasn't sure what I was getting into. I had bought a drum set for kicks and was screwing around a bit but hadn't really focused on much of anything and was pretty much treading water. Incremental improvement but nothing to write home about.

I've found that Adam is ready to meet you at your level and he has got me working on some basics (a reminder of just how sloppy my playing was/is) and I (think) I'm improving pretty rapidly and am starting to recognize things I hadn't noticed before. If there's an issue, it has been my erratic practice schedule. He has also been really flexible with respect to schedule, lesson length etc. - important for someone like myself who is works and has kids with their own busy schedules.

I'm completely new to the drums and decided to do a trial lesson with Adam several months ago. The lessons are fun and informative, and I have improved so much since I started lessons with Adam. He does a great job of starting good drumming habits, and building off of basics so that you can be a well-rounded drummer. He is a great teacher, combining his expertise with what you as a student want to learn so that it's fun and interesting. Highly recommended for both beginners and drummers with experience looking to improve!

Hello friends! I'm a senior at the USC Thornton School of Music. My focus is drumset performance, but I also teach beginner piano and guitar. I have been drumming for 17 years and am currently gigging frequently with pop and rock acts. I also will occasionally be touring this year, so online lessons are preferred so that we can continue your instruction while I'm on the road! Please feel free to hit me with any questions before we start lessons!

About Carter
Hello! I have a Bachelors of Music at the USC Thronton School of Music, and I've been drumming for 18 years. At USC I've had the incredible opportunity to study with musical greats such as Ndugu Chancler and Patrice Rushen. They have passed down much of their wisdom, and I'm excited to share with you the knowledge I've acquired from them and my schooling at USC. I gig consistently around the Los Angeles area with artists such as BAUM, and I'm busy finishing my bands first full-length record! Just got back from an east coast tour with pop artist, Shane. My schedule will fluctuate with touring, but would love to make something work! Please feel free send me any questions regarding the lessons. I look forward to hearing from you!

In addition to teaching the basics of drumming like technique, rudiments, and note values, I also focus a lot on application around the drum set as well as how to improve your musical ear. This aims to help people become better all around musicians as they learn how to play.

About Ben
Hello there, my name is Ben Lokuta, and I have been playing drums for 13 years. I am several bands, including the two time winner of Rockonsin, Distant Cuzins. We were also the 2017 MAMA youth band of the year. I was also the 2017 MAMA youth drummer of the year. We have been a group for seven years and have played everywhere from dive bars to opening for Kansas at Milwaukee SummerFest. In addition, I have played with the Clyde Stubblefield All Star Band, now known as the Funky JBeez, for the last four years, and I got be Clyde Stubblefield's drum tech a couple of times before he passed away. Clyde helped shape many styles of music including funk, soul, hip hop, and ultimately rap as we know it today. I am truly honored to have known him. I have attended McNally Smith College of music for one semester until they closed, and I will be atten
ding Belmont University in the fall of 2019. I have learned a lot along the way, but I have also learned what teaching styles I like and I feel I know how to explain difficult concepts in a way that can make sense to anyone. I can teach technique, orchestration around the drum kit, musicality on the kit, as well as a general approach in styles ranging from swing to rock to latin. I hope I can use my knowledge and experience to help you get where you want to be.

I tailor my teaching approach to each student's specific learning style. This helps me connect with them and teach them in the way that they learn best. I have extensive experience playing in many different styles of music. I can also teach concert percussion instruments, marching band, jazz, rock, and latin styles as well. I have four years of teaching high school age students in particular but am fully capable of teaching all ages!

About David
I have a Bachelor's and Master's degree in percussion performance from California State University Northridge. During my time there, I was the principal percussionist of the wind ensemble for four consecutive years and played in many orchestras in the Los Angeles area. One of the highlights of my career was playing a concert with the CSUN Orchestra and Serj Tankian, the lead singer of the famous rock band System of a Down. I have been teaching drumline at my old high school since I was a junior in college and since then, I have taught drum set and percussion to several private students with one of those students getting accepted as a music education major at UCLA. I approach each student differently depending on their personality and I try to connect with my students as best as I can in order to teach them in the way that they will learn
best. I do not believe in a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to teaching any subject because each person has different strengths and different weaknesses. I also believe strongly in developing motivation in my students because I want to give them the ability to eventually teach themselves when they stop studying with me.
