One of the most enjoyable instruments to play when done correctly.

About Gregory

As a younger brother at the age of five, I began studying the piano because my older sister did. After my foundation in music strengthened I fell in love with the trumpet. At first, each note took time to develop and I enjoyed the challenge. The trumpet allowed me to travel all over the Southeas

I am an experienced teacher, having been a low brass teacher for over a decade. Over 90% of my students that study privately through their senior year of high school receive some form of college scholarship for musical ability, as well as excellent standardized test scores. Additionally, my students have received placement in state rankings for organizations such as NYSSMA, TMEA, ASBOA, as well as Interlochen and Tanglewood summer institutes.
My lessons are customized to each students needs and goals, with the primary goal being a cultivation of great fundamentals.
As a performer, my experience as a freelancer in NYC and performing with word class ensembles like the Metropolitan Opera, Broadway shows, and chamber ensembles makes me an excellent choice.

About Michael

Hello! My name is Michael, and I am a low brass musician, specializing in trombone, bass trombone, and euphonium. I studied at the University of Arkansas, and the Mannes School of Music. I currently work as a freelance musician in New York City, and teach at the University of Arkansas Summer Music

So far, I have had only one lesson with Dr. M., the only singing lesson I've had in my entire 66 years of a lifetime. My only regret, is that I did not take them sooner. Dr M. is patient, an expert, and motivational. What more could you ask for when working with a teacher. He thinks he can make a singer out of me; I'll have to trust his judgement. It would be awesome, if he achieves our goal.

My focus as a teacher begins with the fundamentals of sound production. It is my belief and experience that, given strong fundamentals, one can learn to do anything else they need to on the horn. We will spend time breathing and developing beautiful tone, as well as practical application of these skills with actual music. We'll start with whatever music you are working on currently and will probably expand to other etude books and solo repertoire.

About Randall

My name is Randall Smith, and I am excited to work with you! Music is my first love and playing trombone is what gets me out of bed every day. I am currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in trombone performance at Brigham Young University-Idaho. While my main emphasis is classical performance, I al

"A top notch educator and performer!

I have had the pleasure of working with Ethan for two years at Stokes Forest Music Camp in northern New Jersey. This program takes place in July for two weeks and consists of talented students from ages 12 to 17. They are involved in many great activities such as orchestra, band, chamber ensembles, rock band, jazz band, and musical theatre. As a fellow teacher here at Stokes (French horn and Music Theory), Ethan and I have joined forces to promote a fun and effective teaching environment for the camp's Brass Ensemble. Ethan was the driving force behind this group, and without his enthusiasm and patience, this ensemble surely would not succeed! His teaching methods kept the students involved, and they definitely had lots of fun last year performing New Orleans jazz (without music!).
I feel that what makes Ethan stand out as a great teacher is that he is creative and connects well with his students. He always maintains a positive outlook and has a wonderful personality! Keep up the good work, Ethan! You will do great things as a music teacher!"

"Fantastic Experience!

As a colleague of Chris' I can heartily recommend his teaching to any trombonists wishing to hone their skills as musicians. Chris focuses on the individual needs of each student, working to tailor his lessons to meet their specific needs and face their unique challenges. His attention to detail and patience helps each student build a strong foundation in musicality and fantastic brass playing. I recommend him highly as both a superb educator and performer!"
