I gig, teach, and tour, full time as a drummer living in NYC. I've played drums for over 13 years and studied with numerous teachers across the country.

I perform rock, gospel, funk, jazz, country, and pop music for audiences all over and can help students identify specific, tailored, course work to help them in whatever genre.

My goal is to help students of all ages and abilities sift through the ocean of content to find the *right* challenges for them so they can play what they want to play.

This if my life, this is what I love. I look forward to working with you!

I thought I wasn’t going to be able learn how to play drums and then I met Max! Very patient person and easily helped me unlock the door into drumming. Made everything clear to me and broke it down to where I was able to understand. Highly recommend, Thank you Max!

and compassionate teacher. His lessons were so well tailored to my needs. Each class addressed specific needs and goals of mine. Max is a great drummer and wonderful teacher, highly recommend.

I was a bit nervous about taking lessons as I had not played drums in front of anyone before. My first lesson was surprisingly a very comfortable expereience and something that I would definitely recommend if you are on the fence. I have been playing for about a year and felt like I wasn't progressing with YouTube tutorials anymore. Max has really been helping to take me to a new skill level!

With private teaching experience and a degree in Jazz Composition & Professional Music from Berklee College of Music, Granville adopts the teaching methods of the accomplished performers and educators who instructed him, such as the late Joe Morello(Dave Brubeck), Terri Lyne Carrington (Grammy Award winning artist), Dave DiCenso(Hiromi, Josh Groban) among others.

Granville's curriculum centers on the building blocks; great technique to empower flexibility in his students. He uses methods perfected by Alan Dawson (The Rudimental Ritual), Gary Chaffee (Odd Time Stickings), Sanford A. About Scott

I have been playing drums and percussion since the ripe old age of 9, in 4th grade. Originally wanting to play the clarinet, my music teacher thought my sense of rhythm was too good to waste and placed me in the drum section. I was the only kid who didn't want to play drums. I was fortunate enough to study with some great teachers during my life and that experience thaught me how to create a method of learning that I first applied to myself and then to my students. Learning is a process that requires time and I personally believe that this process must be enjoyed. I found that the best way that makes this possible is learning through music first, getting to understand and internalize the fundamentals of your instrument (drums in this case) by playing together with the music you like. That is the first step that allows the student to go deeper in the knowledge of drumming while having fun.

I've been teaching professionally since 2018. While I was a master student at the conservatory of Purchase College, I was asked to teach drum lessons to college students who weren't enrolled in the music program but wanted to take music lessons as a minor. Since then I've been teaching privately and as a drum instructor for a music school in Manhattan called Music ...

About Andrea

I’m a drummer originally from Italy but living in New York City for 2 years. I’ve been in love with the drums since I was 12, first playing along to any Led Zeppelin records that my father had and shortly after that my dream was to sub for Chad Smith in RHCP, unfortunately it never came true but

"Chuck has been teaching my son drums for several years now. In addition to being an accomplished musician and sound board technician in his own right, Chuck is also a great drum teacher and all around friendly guy.

I have seen my son’s drumming improve drastically over the last few years while he’s been under Chuck’s tutelage. Chuck has also taught my son how to mix his drumming with other instrument tracks on the sound board in order to create CDs and MP3s to send to his grandfather.

If you want a drum teacher who approaches his craft in a spirit of excellence, Chuck Reichel from Sound Picture Studio is the instructor for you!"

"Mike is one of the best drum instructors out there. I've been taking lessons with him from middle school, and he has helped me succeed to become the jazz drummer and drum captain at Marina High School. Mike understands several different styles: rock, jazz, Latin, metal, and more. In addition, he teaches students the proper technique, rudiments and how to read sheet music. Most importantly, Mike stands out from other instructors because he spends time trying to understand his students' interests and incorporates them into his lessons. He is very outgoing and energetic, so his lessons are always fun and educational. Overall, I highly recommend him because he challenges and inspires his students to become better drummers."

5 Best Drum Books for Beginners

Learning to play the drums is not something you can do in a single day or a single lesson. Drumming is an art form, in many ways, and it takes time to develop. Beginner drummers can get frustrated easily, but stick with it and you’ll be playing the drums (and playing them well!) sooner than you might think. While private lessons are the quickest most efficient way to learn to play, you’ll also need to practice at home to really develop your talent. Combine this with the right drum books, and …

Should Drummers Learn Music Theory?
