I started my formal music training at the age of four and have been giving music lessons since 2010. Most of my students reached and passed the short-term goals or exams I gave them, including NYSSMA, ABRSM, and some of them even got accepted into special high schools. Of course, all lessons are customized and catered depends on each student's abilities and goals. We can definitely work together to figure out the best way to help you or your child. I will as well teach you music theory, sight-read, ear-training, and a lot more techniques during our lessons. After all, we cannot play music without knowing some basic concepts or recognizing how they sound like, right? Take lessons with me, not only will you be playing songs in no time, but you will be building a strong foundation and skills of music making!

About Yung-Ai Chloe

I hope you will consider me for my passion, expertise and experience in music teaching. I also customize my lessons towards my students' abilities and goals. My greatest satisfaction is from seeing my students improve. I love helping people learn to play music; because music has been a constant

Due to the coronsvirus, I decided to restart the piano I had abandoned as a kid. I am very pleased so far with my lessons. Chloe takes the time to understand my goals and developed a lesson plan customized to my needs. She explains much more than my previous music teacher. She makes learning music much more interesting.

I have been teaching piano almost as long as I have been performing, coming up on 10 years. To date, I have taught lessons to over 100 different students ranging in age from 5 to 70, and ranging in skill from complete beginner to college piano performance major. I can teach students of any level and help them overcome any problem, whether that is a technical problem, interpretative problem, or having pain during playing.

Not every student is going to think I’m the best fit for them. I expect consistent practice, completion of assignments, and attention to detail in music. I have had many trial lessons that don’t pan out because the student or parent thinks my expectations are too high for them. Make no mistake; I expect a lot, but I also care deeply about music and have great understanding and sympathy for those who genuinely try. Whether your goal is to learn to read music, improve rhythm, learn to play the great classical repertoire, or simply have a good time learning the ...

About Kessa

I received my BM in piano performance from Brigham Young University, studying under Dr. Richard Anderson and Dr. Irene Peery-Fox. While there, I studied pedagogy from master teachers Dr. Irene Peery-Fox and Dr. Jared Pierce, who taught me both how to run a studio and how to manage individual lesson

Excellent. Nothing gets by her; very helpful.

I had the opportunity to work with Kessa when we were both in undergrad and I was trying to decide whether or not to become a music major. I was feeling pretty discouraged with my current piano teacher at the school and talked with Kessa since we had a class together and I knew she was a piano major. I had a few lessons with her and she gave me so many helpful ideas about how to approach my pieces and improve my practice habits. She was very kind and didn’t make me feel bad at all, but still pushed me hard in those lessons because she believed in me. Even though I ended up deciding not to go into music after all, I still value those few lessons I had with her and recommend her to everyone at any level.

Kessa is a very professional and talented piano teacher. My son loves going to lessons and we love hearing him practice such pretty music. We're impressed with Kessa's ability to explain confusing concepts and to encourage my son when he is having a tough time. She's done so well with transitioning to Zoom lessons during the pandemic and we love being able to have lessons from home.

My 16-year-old ---who had not practiced for over a year---is absolutely loving her lessons with Ms. Avenira! With only 3 lessons, I am now seeing the spark for playing the violin return to my daughter's eyes. Ms. Avenira is meeting my daughter "where she is" and truly customizing lessons to move her forward. She provides detailed updates for each lesson, and I could not be happier with my investment. Excellent teacher.
Michelle P.
Avenira really connected with my 14 year old, while our daughter has always been enthusiastic to learn an instrument, putting in the practice and the work has been a challenge in the past. Avenira's format, which allows flexibility for how the student learns best, is really working. My daughter has been practicing every night (unprompted by us), and is really excited abut her next lesson with Avenira. She also loves that she can learn both guitar and piano with Avenira, since she is interested in both. Avenira was very motivating, complimenting our daughter for being focused and for doing a great job during the lesson. Definitely would rate Avenira A+++++++!!
Ela
Avenira has such kindness! She has taught me so so much and she was the best instructor I had. She let me learn the song I wanted to learn, and I felt more passionate and confident about my singing and playing than ever. I wanted to practice more, I wanted to become better, and this never happened with other instructors.

Bailey was an excellent lesson instructor! She took the time to make sure I was getting exactly what I wanted out of my violin lessons and tailored her approach to meet my background and ability level. She is extremely knowledgeable about all of the instruments she teaches, and her positive energy is contagious! I learned so much from Bailey and always enjoyed our lessons together.

Bailey gives great feedback and helped my son learn new songs quickly. Thanks!

Bailey is an amazing teacher! I am primarily a low brass player, but had wanted to get better at piano. Bailey was able to analyze my musical needs, and developed a plan for my specific goals. She is great at focusing on specific problems and giving you advice for fixing them. At the same time, she is patient, and would be great with children, as well as adults. I would highly recommend getting lessons from Bailey!

Mr. Arnold has a very thorough knowledge of music and what it takes to physically create music. If you don't understand something one way, he will explain it in other way's that you do understand. He seems to have no limit to his patience and caring about his student's. A great sense of humor, a guy you would like as a neighbor.

We found Mr. Arnold to be one of the best tutors around. He was easy to work with our changing schedule. He covered all the areas we needed, and was able to provide instruction through all levels of talent. We felt blessed for all the help he gave us, but also for the positive roll model he was.

"Gabriel is an excellent piano instructor teacher. He's the best decision we've ever made. In comparison to all the other  piano teachers my kids have had, I would say he's the best. He uses a very personal hands-On approach. He's very instructional and makes sure his students understand the basics of music as it relates to theory music, composition, timing, and so on and so forth. He teaches my daughter and my son, and they love him to death. They now look forward to their piano lessons on a weekly basis. Keep up the good work, sir."

"Mr. Cooper is an experienced teacher. He teaches piano, violin & vocal from basic to advance level. My son has been taking piano classes from him for the past 3+ years. He loves to go to Mr. Cooper's classes. The foremost quality in Mr. Cooper is that he seeks perfection and tries to imbibe the same in his students. He encourages all his students to perform their best and is extremely patient in dealing with his students. Mr. Cooper lets me sit in my son's lessons and I got my 101 on classical music with these sessons. I can appreciate what my son plays and also now able to appreciate classical music in general.
Mr. Cooper encourages all his students to participate in IMA annual contests and puts a lot of effort in preparing his students for the same."

"I've been learning from Aaron for about 4-5 years now. Hands down the best teacher I've had. He managed to explain the theory behind every piece according to level the student is at and explains it amazingly. In a world where most people just want to learn to play, he ensures that they understand the intrinsic theory behind the pieces. He's helped me with arranging pieces, composing, and learning. Not to mention that he is quite possibly the most versatile person I've met who can do literally anything from writing to music production. Besides piano, he's helped me with being organized and maximizing my productivity. He brings a unique approach to piano and practice that I think has helped me tremendously."
