Songwriting is a pleasure and easy to learn once the basics are explored. Music Theory concepts are explored so songwriting comes naturally. A focus on the storytelling aspects of songwriting (along with emotional content) is covered. Let's get started - I love helping with your songwriting goals. Which - by the way - I make it a habit to encourage the songwriting aspirations of young singers and piano players. I respect and foster their efforts. I look forward to knowing that one day some of my students will look back over their childhood and say, "Oh yes - me? I started writing songs when I was eight." And, of course, for older students I have a lot of resources for assisting.

Marty is a wonderful teacher and very easy to understand. I tried many online packages and other teachers and I could not keep up with their instruction. Marty is clear and has figured out ways to make It possible for me to play much faster than I ever thought I could. I will be returning from a trip east and will continue my lessons when I return. I am very happy that I found Marty.

Having Marty as a piano teacher has been amazing. I’m 3 lessons in and I’m very surprised at how far I’ve come in such a short amount of time with Marty’s guidance. Marty does not have a set curriculum that you must follow. Instead, she forms the lessons around the student and their needs. Marty is so great at interpreting where you are, the pace you need to go, and the best practices that will fit your personality/habits. She provides assignments that will keep you busy throughout the week as you practice. I’ve never felt like I’ve been pushed too hard either. Marty gives assignments that will not be too overwhelming, but at the same time, they are ones that are very fun because you see the improvement in your playing. To be able to find this balance shows the sign of a great teacher in my eyes. Only 3 lessons in, and yet I felt compelled to write this review in such a short amount of time. Thank you Marty!

Kyle K has a unique teaching style. His Ableton Live knowledge has no bounds. In just five lessons he talked me through most of my usual brain-fog to help me understand, in the simplest terms, how to use Live to record music and use Midi to enhance your work. Super, Super man, Kyle is. I highly recommend Kyle if you need a teacher. John G.

I have been a student of Tim’s for a little over a year now. I started playing guitar at age 52 and when I started with Tim I was very close to giving up or settling on just being able to strum a few chords. I have had many hand injuries in the past that have resulted in arthritis and lack of dexterity in my wrists and some of my fingers and I started doubting I would ever be able to progress in my ability to play. From the very first lesson where I told Tim about my hand issues and my frustrations, he told me he was sure we could work around any physical limitations I had, and he was right. Tim has been able to work with me on alternative ways to play the chords I was having trouble with and has shown me that these alternate techniques along with the bit of music theory he sprinkles into lessons can really expand my ability to play.

In the time I have been studying with Tim, I have done more than I thought I ever could. I went from a frustrated beginner guitar player to having enough confidence to play on stage with some of Tim’s other students and I am now looking forward to what I will be able to do on the guitar instead of being frustrated with what I can’t do.

Tim is a talented and passionate musician as well as a knowledgeable and very relatable instructor which is a rare combination and he's also a really great guy and any student of any age or ability will benefit from studying with him.

Tim is an excellent guitar teacher and an overall great guy. He provided me with structure and support, enabling me to make the most out of my practice and ultimately progress as a player. His warm personality and contagious enthusiasm for music kept me looking forward to our time together each week. "Technology today is incredible. I'm in Norway, Fawn is in Los Angeles. Where else could I find a quality teacher with a couple of hit songs help me at my craft? If it weren't for the internet I would have never found such a talented songwriter to help me tighten my songs. I love, love, LOVE the time I spend with Fawn hashing out my songs to record with my band in the studio. She is so gifted, easy going, precise and fun. She really respects keeping the integrity and emotions of my songs and is good at keeping people open to changes that are necessary to make a mediocre song great."

"Fawn is an investment in my future, money spent well

Fawn takes you on an unexpected fun, whirlwind of learning when you take lessons with her. Can’t read the notes? No problem, she’s got you. Vocal problems? Oh yeah, she fixes that too. Trouble in the studio? Voice off pitch? Need mic technique? Weak on piano? Sight singing? Can’t play the blues? Can’t play classical? Need to learn how to write a song? Can’t find a hook for your song? Don’t worry, Fawn to the rescue! Seriously, is there nothing this woman can’t do? I soak up her wisdom like a sponge. I’m currently working in the studio with her on my debut album and we are half-way finished. It is sounding ah-may-zing! I am learning so much from this studio wiz. Having her in my life the past 3 years has been the right choice and an investment in my future. Here’s to another successful year with Fawn on my team."

"He just makes our music so much better. An exceptional teacher.

Randy has worked with my partner and I for 15 years. He took our melodies, arranged them, and turned them into songs that were actually singable. Watching Randy run a rehearsal and teach people songs is a sight to behold. He makes it happen quickly and efficiently, and we always have fun.

In all sincerity, I consider Randy to be the most talented musician I've ever known. He is a great teacher, even of inexperienced adults, and fun to work with. A winning combination all the way around.
