Learning to play the piano was a lifelong dream of mine. I’ve been taking lessons from Janet now for five years. As an “adult” student starting from scratch, I was concerned that I would never really be able to understand music or become truly competent. When I look back to where I started from and how far I’ve come, I’m amazed. Janet is truly a genius at teaching. She makes difficult concepts easy to understand. And she truly understands the challenges of the adult learner. But learning is always enjoyable, never stressful. I look forward to my lessons and even my at-home practicing sessions. It’s become a kind of therapy for me! I would recommend Janet and the Fine Arts Music School to any who is serious about learning to play the piano.

I am an adult who learned piano for 2 years when I was little before quitting. I wanted to regain my skills and Janet has been helping me do that. She’s fantastic, kind, flexible and encouraging! She reminded me to enjoy the music while at the same time challenging me to improve my skills to the next level I couldn’t be more excited !!

I noticed in my first lesson Tamera was throughly prepared with all the foundational info that I would need to be able to stand before walking. She was also mindful to allow me to sing as I normally would so she could correct my errors and therefore help me achieve my best potential

Rina transformed a septuagenarn with very little vocal experience into a much more confident and capable vocalist...in only five 1hr lessons. I plan to continue with Rina because learning with her is fun and although I have learned a lot I want to absorb more of what she is capable of teaching me.

My 6yr old just took his first lesson and is hooked. Gigi is very sweet and stirred up an excitement in him. My son definitely liked the "idea" of learning the piano but is now confidant and actually writing his first song! Who knew, 5 notes and you can become a composer! BRAVO GIGI:)

Let's think outside of the box! In my 4 years of teaching music, students have performed contemporary, jazz, classical, hip hop, garage band, and many more. together, we will work to build a solid technical foundation to support a wide range of styles. My goal is to give every student the skills to express music however they seem fit. We will learn sight-reading, rhythm, music theory, ear training, and a variety of other skills. I also specialize in music arranging and production. Send me a message and we can see if we're a good fit. Looking forward to hearing from you!

About Matthew

As a Music Educator, Music Director, and a Music Education coordinator, my passion lies in helping people access and perform music. I believe correct and healthy technique unlocks a world of musicality. I also know learning music is at its best when the process is fun and progress can be felt every lesson.

Students will improve week to week in both their playing and their comprehensive understanding of music. With an emphasis placed on ear training, theory, and sight-reading, students will find themselves quickly excelling in the areas of their choice. I teach students of all ages and levels. Whether you're touching the instrument for the first time, or have played for years, I will help us create a curriculum and a goal plan to effectively make music.

Additionally, I have a background in early childhood musical development and believ

e structured fun and play are the key to long term musical success. If you are a parent interested in your child learning and sticking with an instrument, I can give you the skills and tools to have a musical home for a lifetime.

Your musical goals are the most important to me and I can't wait to talk more and see what we can do together!
