Travis has worked with all ages, abilities and skill levels to achieve their musical goals. Lessons taught with patience and consistency have provided his students with the most important skills and concepts to play with confidence and proficiency. He will improve the students technique and creativity while introducing diverse styles of music. Students will implement the use of the rudiments and see how they might be applied to beats or fills on the drum set. Linear patterns and four way coordination patterns will be applied for developing good coordination skills and ambidextrous discipline in advanced players. Beginners will learn to grasp a feel of straight quarter, eighth and sixteenth note beats. Lessons are always designed to be educational, engaging & fun, combining a balance of learning notation, playing by ear & performance with other live instruments! We will find out what interests you most and get you on the drum set right away for fast results!

Hello. My lessons are for beginning and intermediate students looking to improve their skills for school band or personal enjoyment. Students will need to have acoustic drums to allow for practice between sessions. We will work on your skill-set relative to your level of experience. Each lesson will build on the next. My goal is to help my students grow with their comfort and confidence. If you are comfortable and confident then you will have fun. It all works together.

Beginning students will begin studying from the book "Progressive Drum Grooves" by Craig Lauritsen which he/she will be required to have each lesson.

Although instructor will have drumsticks, brushes etc. students should carry them along for every lesson.

A drum set or practice pad will be a very crucial part in seeing growth from our lessons.

Fusion sized Mapex drum set with cymbals. 18" bass drum

The lesson room also has a PA system for CD/MP3 player capabilities.

I can provide practice pad if needed. If student is learning the drum set they will need to supply for in-home lessons.

I focus on drum grooves such as Jazz, Funk, Hip-Hop, Latin, Swing, Rock, and RnB. I have experience from multiple drum teachers, and have attended Cuesta College (A.A. in Music Performance) and CSUSB (B.A. in Music). If you're a beginner or are looking to improve on some new ideas and techniques, I'd be glad to teach you.
