I cater my lessons to fit the students needs. Whether you’re a complete beginner or an advanced drummer looking to refine your skills, I can help you along your musical journey. I play several different styles of music, and love to teach new concepts to aspiring students.

I have 17 years experience performing drum set, hand drums, mallets and many other percussion instruments. I received a Bachelor's in Music for Percussion Performance and Music Education from the Sacramento State School of Music and I received my Master's in Music for Percussion Performance from the University of Nevada, Reno. I have experience teaching in public schools (high school and middle school levels), the collegiate level, music camps, and I have maintained a private studio for over two years. I have a method of teaching based on what you want to learn while also going over technique, posture, musicianship and music theory. My teaching is based entirely on the student as many people have different ways of learning so I do my best to make myself clear. My goal is to make lessons fun and informative, so let's enjoy the journey of making music!

Attacking the students aspirations and goals of their personal requests to the trainer, and getting to know the client and where they would like to see themselves in a limited time of training so the clients money and time isn't left in the mud! We will play and organize our curriculum through music and melody, with a counted rhythm to the beat we are attacking. Listening to our favorite songs is a good way to learn how to play an instrument, it gives a familiar count and sound that we can connect to! Music is simple but fun so our sessions will always revolve around repetitive lessons ,BPM , counting, rhythm, and listening to many many songs and playing them!

I have had years of experience playing drums professionally as well as teaching a wide range of students. I graduated from Manhattan School of Music where I studied with the great teacher John Riley. I’ve also studied with Kendrick Scott, Michael Carvin, and Rodney Green. I teach about hand technique, reading skills, different styles of drumming, improvisation, as well as music theory. If you have a passion for learning drums, then I would love to teach you.

I focus on drum grooves such as Jazz, Funk, Hip-Hop, Latin, Swing, Rock, and RnB. I have experience from multiple drum teachers, and have attended Cuesta College (A.A. in Music Performance) and CSUSB (B.A. in Music). If you're a beginner or are looking to improve on some new ideas and techniques, I'd be glad to teach you.

Hi! My name is T.J. and I am a professional drummer and educator currently living in Forest Park, IL. I received my B.A. in Jazz Studies from Elmhurst College in the Spring of 2019. I have been playing professionally in Chicago and it's surrounding suburbs for over five years now, and have played the drum set for 13 years.

I am very passionate about my craft, and absolutely love spreading that knowledge with others and inspiring them to the best of my ability. I am well versed in many styles, including Rock, Jazz,, Fusion, Funk, World Music, and Classical Percussion.

I am active in many bands, such as Instrumental Rock/Fusion band Elysian Green and Folk/Rock band Fleeting Suns (check either out on spotify!) I've been lucky enough to record and share the stage with famous Chicago musicians, such as Chris Siebold, Mark Colby, Frank Caruso, Jeremy Khan, and Marlene Rosenberg, among others.
