Tom is very patient with younger students that get distracted easily. One of my children is very interested in learning Irish folk music and Tom is great about helping him explore his interests in music. I love having lessons in home. It's very convient and allows me to keep my toddler entertained while my other children are doing lessons. Lessons are also affordable. I would definitely recommend Tom!

Tom is an excellent harp teacher! He’s guided me in the right directions on my harp journey, expanded my knowledge of folk music, and helped me with my technical skills.
Experienced Harp teacher of 30 years available for eager students aged 10 through adult! I teach using the Suzuki Harp Method and other methods as needed. Over 30 years violin teaching experience. I have successfully taught students ages 3 to adult. Anyone can learn to play the violin. Lessons in a comfortable setting in my studio.
*** Lesson Details *** Lessons are taught in my home in a comfortable setting. Parents are encouraged to sit in on lessons and are expected to help their child practice. I teach the Suzuki Method and the Suzuki book and recording are required. I will change details to suit a student, for instance I teach note reading long before a traditional Suzuki teacher would and I will add non-Suzuki materials into lessons if needed.
*** Studio Equipment *** Young students are started out on a play violin so they can learn the proper positions before they graduate to their real violin. I will assist parents in finding the right instrument for their child.
*** Specialties *** I have never found a child who couldn't learn music. Obviously, some will learn faster than others, but with the right encouragement and help from their parents, any child can learn to play the violin.
CHarlene has a great style of teaching kids and she is very patient. My daughter was so happy with what she learned in her first lesson, came home from and practiced for 30 minutes!

Kristie taught my son harp for 1.5 years before he left for college. He absolutely loved Kristie. She is patient, and makes the lessons interesting and engaging. She allows students to choose from a selection of music so that they learn how to play something they like. She encourages experimentation and engagement. My son wanted to learn the harp because it was interesting, not because he wanted to be a world class performer. Kristie really got that and made the lessons something he looked forward to every week. And she herself was a world class performer so if that's what you're looking for in a teacher, she can deliver that to. Kristie is a super teacher; my son still keeps in touch with her and says lessons with Kristie were one of the highlights of high school.

I was nervous walking into my first piano lesson, as I was COMPLETELY out of my element, though I knew that I had a passion to start learning. Kristie made me feel at home and reassured me that this was normal. She is extremely informative, and not only teaches you what you need to know, but explains WHY things are the way they are- which further developed my love for the music. Also, I have noticed that she is good at knowing where to start. She saw that I was picking it up quickly, so advanced quickly to challenge me more. Loved every lesson so far, and look forward to the future ones as well!!!!

We've had the best first time lessons experience with Kristie. She is knowledgeable, patient and extremely flexible. I especially appreciate the way she is able to reign in my seven year old's often wandering attention span. I look forward to continuing to work with Kristie in the future.
I am an experienced teacher who is committed to helping every student achieve their personal goals at the harp. I have worked with all ages and abilities and I'm excited to work with you! I am open to working on any type of music you'd like to and can also help you develop a better understanding of music theory. I earned my harp performance degree from the Lamont School of Music at the University of Denver.
I am a friendly, outgoing, and passionate music teacher! I play the harp and piano and absolutely love to spread the joy of music. I started playing the harp because my grandmother was a harpist and I thought it was the most beautiful instrument. After all these years, I still love the amazing sound of the harp. I completed my degree in Harp Performance from University of Denver's Lamont School of Music where I received a well-rounded education in both performance and academics (including theory, history, and technology). Please let me know if you have any questions- can't wait to get started!
I’ll work with you to get the best out of your potential.
Eleonora is a professional harpist based in the Bay Area. She was born in Florence (Italy), where at the age of nine began studying the harp. Eleonora went on to earn a Bachelors in harp from the Conservatory of music in Florence and a Masters in harp from Conservatory of music in Parma. From 2011 to 2017 she performed with the Orchestra of the Royal Northern College of Music of Manchester.
For the past ten years Eleonora has been teaching classical and celtic harp to children and adults.
In 2015 Eleonora completed her training to become a certified Music learning theory teacher. This approach focuses on the belief that music is like a language and therefore in order to become fluent children should be immersed in it early on.
Eleonora teaches private harp lessons to beginners, intermediate and advanced students in her studio
in Berkeley; she's also available for house calls (depending on location). All ages are welcome.
I’ve been one of Eleonora’s first students and I’ve studied harp with her for 4 years. It has been very rewarding.
I was always looking forward to her lessons: she inspired us to practice for competitions and she always encouraged me to play in front of an audience, giving the very best of my self.
Playing the harp has always been a great joy for me thanks to her lessons.

Eleonora's professionalism and her passion for music have had a great influence on my harp learning experience. Eleonora has been my teacher for four years.I have beautiful memories of the competitions and harp congress i joined together with Eleonora and my classmates.
I'm truly grateful for all the support you showed me day by day and for having shared your passion with me.
I believe lessons should be fun and expansive journeys. I enjoy truly connecting with each student in a light, enjoyable atmosphere. Lessons are tailored to meet each student where they are at, while still pushing them at a rate that inspires them. Positive reinforcement and constructive feedback are always used, while negative criticism is not. I specialize in teaching proper harp technique designed to allow the player to play for a lifetime! If pain arises from playing students will never be asked to push through pain or discomfort. Rather, we will find a different approach that works. Lastly, I love working with students on pieces they really love. No piece of music is off limits! We can make any song work on the harp!
Hello there, and thank you so much for considering me as a potential teacher! I truly love teaching and so enjoy connecting with each and every student.
I have been playing the harp since age six. While I am primarily a classical pedal harpist, I also love to play jazz, pop, folk, and contemporary music. I love teaching all of these styles as well, and students may choose to play either the lever harp or the pedal harp.
I have been blessed to have studied with some incredible teachers. Studying Salzedo Technique with Cynthia Otis, herself a former student of Carlos Salzedo, allowed me to develop strong and stable harp technique. I went on to study both jazz and classical with Felice Pomeranz at Berklee College of Music. From these experiences, I have developed a style of teaching that focuses strongly on technique while incorpora
ting styles and pieces tailored to each individual student’s musical taste and goals.
Currently, I am completing a certification in Clinical Musicianship. I am thrilled to be learning about the endless healing components of harp music. I believe that music should be a source of joy, a belief that is ever present throughout her lessons.
Pheobe is very patient and kind. She understands my goals and moves at the pace that allows me to learn the basics. She has been an ideal teacher for me and playing the harp has been a wonderful addition to my life.

She was excellent! She explains everything very clearly.
I'm looking forward to practicing and our next lesson.
I make sure to create a custom lesson plan, tailored to each individual student's level and learning style. I share my knowledge from my own education at The Juilliard School and the Yale School of Music, as well as practical advice from on the job, musician experience in orchestras, chamber music settings, recitals, competitions, and other collaborative projects.
Thanks for viewing my TakeLessons profile! I am a professional harpist with a Bachelor of Harp degree from Juilliard, and a Master of Music degree from the Yale School of Music. Since finishing school, I've worked as a harpist performing a range of genres in New York City, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Washington DC, New Jersey, Seattle, New Hampshire, and now, Texas. My training is in classical harp, but I spend a lot of time playing recording jazz and pop music as well. Being a versatile musician is important both for musical growth and development, and also for diverse career opportunities.
Teaching harp lessons is one of my favorite things; it's extremely rewarding to notice expansion in a student's skillset and practical knowledge. My harp teachers at Juilliard and Yale are very important to me, and I frequently relay th
eir sentiments to my students. I always try to be aware of my students' interests and other activities/obligations, and tailor a lesson plan based on how much time they are able to devote to practicing, what repertoire would develop their technique and musical abilities, and, of course, what repertoire interests and appeals to them. I also discuss music theory and tips and tricks for orchestra, chamber music, and other performance opportunities at length in my lessons. I'm comfortable with concert, competition, and audition prep, and apply my experience in all of those areas.
Please feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns. I look forward to speaking with you!
My 10 year old daughter studied with Margaret this year. Margaret is unfailingly patient and encouraging. She has a wealth of knowledge about music theory, and conveys the information in a way that makes it seem easy. She was great about tailoring the lessons to fit my daughter’s interests, strengths, and needs.
August 5, 2019
I took harp lessons with Margaret for 3 years and would have continued if I hadn't relocated to a different city. Margaret helped me drastically improve my technique with etudes and advice. She is great at explaining what changes need to be made to achieve a more accurate technique, and her musical suggestions really changed the way I think about preparing pieces and took my performance skills to a new level. She's honest, clear, and really fun to work with. I always looked forward to our lessons because she has a way of making even tricky, difficult pieces fun to work on.
"A teenage boy and a 40-year-old woman do not go about learning an instrument (or music theory) in the same way, and Alexandra knows how to tailor her less
ons to each students' needs -- definitely not a one-size-fits all teacher. Cheerful and encouraging, she knows how to walk the fine line between demanding excellent work and being a control freak. Whether you or your child want to learn music theory for any instrument, or the harp in particular, you can't go wrong with Alexandra. Also, for those who have to listen to anyone practicing a new instrument, it's hard to make an ugly sound on a harp."
"Eleonora Pellegrini is a great professional! She has been my daughter’s harp teacher for two years: she’s very talented! She’s a special person, she is v

"I think Lydia is the perfect instructor for my six year old daughter. Very personable and friendly! It takes a special person to be able to teach children
. Lydia has to gift to do that."
"I enjoyed my first harp lesson with Liudmila so much! She is a very sweet lady, and a very patient, knowledgable, and professional teacher. She taught me
the correct posture and hand positions at the first lesson. I was struggeling with the hand positions first, but she didn't mind to explain them to me over and over again. She also plaid some tunes to me, and I could tell that she is an awsome harpist. I am very glad that I can learn from her. I highly recommend her to anyone who wants to learn from a professional harpist."
"I was nervous and excited to start lessons but Jill's happy, positive, and encouraging manner took my nerves away. I'm so happy I started this journey wit
h her and can't wait for my next lesson."
"Alexandra Perdew is an amazing teacher. I could not be where I am or had great opportunities such as performing at the Grammys if it wasn't for her help a
nd support. Alex always pushes me to do my best and is truly passionate about her work!"
"I have taken harp lessons from Anne Roos for the past year. I had no prior music knowledge Prior to starting harp lessons. I am now able to read music an
