Drum Lessons in East Parsonsfield. Amazing Teachers.

Experienced teacher of ten years. I specialize in beginner and intermediate piano, guitar and drum students. All ages welcome. Lessons will focus on building a solid foundation of note reading and technical skill while also being customized to your interests and goals. Let's get started!

Beginning students will begin studying from the book "Progressive Drum Grooves" by Craig Lauritsen which he/she will be required to have each lesson.

Although instructor will have drumsticks, brushes etc. students should carry them along for every lesson.

A drum set or practice pad will be a very crucial part in seeing growth from our lessons.

The lesson room also has a PA system for CD/MP3 player capabilities.

I can provide practice pad if needed. If student is learning the drum set they will need to supply for in-home lessons.

Hello my name is James! I'm a professional musician and teacher from Florida. I've earned my Bachelors of Science in Music in 2017, and have been giving one on one lessons since 2014.
I'm proficient in a variety of style of music on the drum; rock, funk, jazz, hip hop, gospel. My goal is to get you playing new beats, fills, songs, and rudiments.
Best part is, I've got all the instruments you would to need to play at my studio!

The drum set is a important instrument for every musician to try out, and it can be a ton of fun! A beginning student can expect to play along to many of their favorite songs in just a few weeks. An intermediate to advanced student can expect to have a skillset that will propel them into auditions with bands in whatever genre most interests them. This would entail an understanding of polyrhythm, feel (swing vs. straight, for example), consistent tempo and the ability to replicate basic drumbeats in any genre on their instrument. Any drum beat can be simplified or made more complex to suit the students ability level, so we can delve in to whatever kind of drum-beats inspire you!

I have finished a Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory with two master's degrees in Piano and choir conductor; my dissertation was in music therapy.
