I have been a songwriter for 15 years, playing in bands and producing independent solo albums. In my comedy career I frequently write theme music, parodies, and funny political songs for various local shows my friends and I produce.

In addition to music theory, we can work on song structure, the anatomy of pop music, lyric and vocal phrasing, expanding on initial ideas, and I can provide feedback on works in progress. I can also help you analyze songs by your favorite artists so you can learn their approach.

About Joshua
Hi! I'm Josh, a passionate music educator in Boston, MA. I have taught over 1000 lessons over the past three years to piano, voice, and theory students of all ages. From preparing for rock-vocal style auditions at Berklee College of Music to helping re-discovering the fun of classical piano lessons, there is nothing I enjoy more than working with students on achieving their goals. As a gigging musician and a lifetime student myself, I know what it takes to improve, master, and most importantly ENJOY your time at your instrument. Looking forward to helping you reach all your music goals!

About me:
I eat/breathe/sleep music. From writing and conducting my first A Capella piece in high school to playing in bands that have toured around the world, music is my passion and my life! I value nothing more than finding that passion in others an
d working together to turn musical fantasies into realities.

From grade school to high school I took rigorous classical piano lessons. In 2006-07 I attended two summer programs at Berklee College of Music where I studied jazz/rock performance, and continued to study jazz piano at Washington University.

At Boston University, I studied classical music composition/theory, and was accepted to for a dual degree in Music Composition, Psychology, but decided to pursue music as a minor in order to allow more time for gigging. Since relocating to Boston, I have performed 250+ shows in various ensembles around the greater Boston area.

My lessons are are catered to your specific goals and where you are at, beginner to advance, 5-1000 years old. I am here to get you to where you want to go, whether that's taking up a new hobby or becoming a virtuoso. Together, we will do it!

In our lessons we will work on:

- Your favorite songs, any style
- Writing your own music
- How to learn music by ear
- How to read music notation and chord sheets.
- How to record/produce yourself
- really, seriously, ANYTHING YOU WANT!

I know what it's like to have a teacher that is uninspiring, or to be told that a certain kind of music is the "right kind to learn," when all you want to do is jam out to your favorite songs on the radio. I've been there. That's not what I'm about. I'll teach you how to play whatever it is you want to learn, whether that's the complete works of Bach or the latest One Direction song. Let's do it.

I have been writing songs for 10 years and have studied with influential songwriters in the LA music business for the past year and a half, as well as with Philly writers for many years before that. I believe that writing is all about honesty and finding your own voice. Through these lessons I will help you to do both of these things along with building your knowledge of music theory, and what makes a song click.

About Rebecca
Welcome! My name is Becca M. and I am an experienced songwriter, guitarist, and performer looking to share my knowledge and love of music with others. I am available for in-home, in-studio, and online lessons.

I've been teaching private lessons since 2009 and graduated this May 2017 with a Bachelors of Music degree from the highly selective Popular Music Performance program at the University of Southern California. I'm a patient, supportive, and enthusiastic person and am excited to work with students to help them find their own unique musical voice. I have worked with Larry Gold (Justin Timberlake, Mark Ronson), Rick Friedrich (The Roots, Rihanna), Sean Holt (John Legend, Bruno Mars), and many more music industry professionals.

I have experience with music of a multitude of genres including folk, rock, blues, funk, R&B, Motown, and
more. Lessons with me will be built around your own unique personal goals and are scheduled to best fit to the student’s schedule when possible.

Have a million great song ideas in your head, but not sure how to blend them all together to make your one big hit?! I'll coach you through music structures in any style, and help you create hooks and lyrics that are both authentic and catchy.

About Nicole
Nicole is available to teach lessons for students of all levels. Beginning her singing career when she was 7, she most recently sang at the Lyric Opera of Chicago, was a winner of the international CS Competition in musical theatre, and is a Chicago F.A.M.E. finalist for Jazz and popular music. Nicole has been a young artist for Cedar Rapids Opera Theatre, Metropolitan International Music Festival, and for Tiroler Opern Programm, under international instructors, including Elizabeth Bachman (from the Metropolitan Opera), Kim Josephson (Metropolitan Opera), Sharon Cheng (Caramoor),

I can teach you how to play the guitar in many style's. Blues, jazz, country, rock, punk rock, modern rock, classical guitar, bass guitar, metal and thrash. You will learn chords, scales, solo's, taping, arpeggios, technique and exercises, composing and more. You will have the option to learn songs from your favorite artist. I have the patients to show you fingering and picking as we play along with the song. I will show you tips on playing, programs, recording equipment, guitar and amp tips as well.

About Richard
I started learning how to play the guitar around 15 years old. I have over 36 years experience. I took lessons for three years of reading, writing tab and notations, chord charts, melodies, classical guitar, soloing, taping, techniques, song learning, ear training and transposing. From the songs, I've learned to play the rhythm and solo. Over the years, I self taught myself guitar by listening to my favorite artist. I played in local bands for many years and performed in venue's in my home town. When I play in bands, I'm always labeled the lead guitar player of the group. I would help everyone out with their parts and timing. I have recording experience in the studio as much as my home studio using Steinburg's Cubase. I took a music theory course and received a certificate.

My time with Rich was really strong. I took lessons from Rich for a short while when living in Connecticut. The time I spent with him was VERY helpful to me as a novice guitar player. Rich has an unbelievable knowledge of the instrument and is quite an accomplished player. He is a really strong instructor and genuinely wants his students to get better.

In short, Rich is a very talented instructor/player and I would definitely take lessons from him again.
