If you are interested in learning the organ, I can help. I have taught piano lessons for 47 years and I took five years of organ lessons in junior high and high school. I also played organ for church services for four years.

With over fifteen years of teaching experience, Patrick is a sought after teacher hired by numerous students and festivals, including Curtis Institute of Music's Young Artist Summer Program and The Juilliard School. He has taught all ages and all levels, and specializes in preparing students for college auditions and competitions. He has also taught the A.P. Music Theory course to several students, all earning excellent (4-5) exam scores. Students can expect a kind and fair teacher who wants students to take away something new from each lesson.

Born in the Midwest, I spent seven graduate years in Paris performing, teaching, and researching. I have come to see music lessons as both a personal process of body awareness and harnessing mental energy, and as an interpersonal process of exploring the dynamic between student and teacher. To beginners: anyone at any age can learn basic organ skills if they devote ten minutes a day to it. To intermediate players: my goal is to train you to be your own primary teacher. To advanced students: I can give you artistic colors for the palette and tools for the journey.

I teach both baroque and modern technique on a tracker action instrument, which is then applicable to modern instruments. My teaching style is rooted in developing a technique that is centered, focused, and free. Beginning organ students should have reached an intermediate level of piano performance and be tall enough to sit comfortably on a lowered organ bench with feet touching the pedals without flexing.

I teach organ playing skills as well as using automatic accompaniments with MIDI keyboards and synthesizers.

Your first lesson with me will be fun and exciting. You will learn how to play a fun simple song and scales and rhythm. I measure your success by how well you practice using the techniques I give you, I also measure progress according to how many times a week you practice, I am committed to inspire people of all ages and skill levels to learn more about music. I believe that music for every individual should be a pleasurable learning experience. Whether you are a beginner or advanced musiciane or vocalist. I welcome all students of all ages encouraging them. I like to motivate all students to succeed. After 3 to 6 months with you, you will have learned how to play simple songs, 12 scales and read the lines and spaces of Treble and Bass Clef and play 3 rhythm patterns
