I am a lifelong passionate drummer & musician who has taught Drum-Set & Marching Percussion to hundreds of people of all ages, levels and abilities, for nearly 3 decades. I am very versatile and can teach any style. I will personalize every lesson to your interests and goals. All you need is a practice pad and a pair of sticks to take a lesson.

Are you a beginner, intermediate or advanced drum-set player interested in learning how to keep a beat, how to set-up a drum-set, how to tune drums, how to play fills...actually you're here because you want to be a Rockstar, don't you? Ah. I see. This should be easy then.

I started playing drum-set professionally as a freshmen in high school and have never stopped. It was my first true love, and my way into my own musical voice. I also sing while performing drums, so if that's something you're interested in getting better at I have plenty of experience to help you lead from behind the set.

Whether you are planning on joining/starting a band, using it as accompaniment to someone else, or just want to learn for fun as a hobby, I can teach you all you need to know to meet your Rockstar drummer potential! If you have any questions, please message me!

Hi! My name is T.J. and I am a professional drummer and educator currently living in Forest Park, IL. I received my B.A. in Jazz Studies from Elmhurst College in the Spring of 2019. I have been playing professionally in Chicago and it's surrounding suburbs for over five years now, and have played the drum set for 13 years.

I am very passionate about my craft, and absolutely love spreading that knowledge with others and inspiring them to the best of my ability. I am well versed in many styles, including Rock, Jazz,, Fusion, Funk, World Music, and Classical Percussion.

I am active in many bands, such as Instrumental Rock/Fusion band Elysian Green and Folk/Rock band Fleeting Suns (check either out on spotify!) I've been lucky enough to record and share the stage with famous Chicago musicians, such as Chris Siebold, Mark Colby, Frank Caruso, Jeremy Khan, and Marlene Rosenberg, among others. My lessons are both fun and educational, with flexibility to honor each student's needs and goals. During my time as a drummer, I have had the pleasure of studying music with Dr. Richard Ripani, Eddie Bell, and renowned big band drummer Duffy Jackson in Nashville, TN. I graduated in May 2017 with a degree in Studio Music/Jazz Performance at UT Knoxville, studying with Professor Keith Brown. I want to pass on all the knowledge I gained from them to you!
