I write songs that have connections with The Beatles, Syd Barrett, David Byrne, The Cure, Guided by Voices, Arcade Fire, Mew - to name a few. Whether you enjoy Pop music or wish to break out of the traditional pop song structure, I can help you develop your own personal flair. Originality is key!

Hello Future Students!
Whether you want to pursue a Musical Career or simply learn how to Play your Favorite Tunes for friends and family, I am here as your Teacher and Guide. I teach at my own home, at the Student's home or through the use of Skype.
I am originally from Ann Arbor. I spent much of this century living in NYC and prior to that I lived in Chicago. Those experiences vastly helped me develop Networking, Performance and Teaching experience. I now live in southwest Detroit near River Rouge.
As a Father of four, I have had the joy in teaching my own children Guitar, Saxophone, Songwriting, Composition and Keyboard. As a parent I have found that Patience and Encouragement is often the best form of support.
It has been proven that learning Music helps develop intuition, self-awareness, and social skills as well as imp
rove in other subjects not directly related to the arts such as Mathematics and Science.
One of the most important aspects of playing Music is being able to Play by Ear. This has been a priceless gift that I was born with and have developed throughout my life. I encourage all musicians, young and old, to do the same. The use of simple Rhythmic Dictation and Ear Training exercises can do wonders for "picking out" Beats and Harmonies no matter what Genre we are interested in.
I attended music courses at The Boston School of Contemporary Music and Thomas Jefferson College (MI). I have a BA at Columbia College Chicago double majoring in Music Composition and English .
My band THIRD BORDER's "Sun of Water; Sea of Light" was selected to be nominated for the Grammy's as The Best Alternative Album of the Year in 2006. On this record, I played Guitar, Saxophone, sang Lead Vocal and wrote all the Songs. If you are a Songwriter, we can polish up your approach.
As a Composer, I have done Sound Design for Film, Dance, Spoken Word and Multi-media Performance - most notably with renowned poet Anne Carson and former members of The Merce Cunningham Dance Co. I also formed and composed two symphonies for my 12-member saxophone orchestra in NYC. Currently, I am rehearsing new work with a Detroit-based multiinstrumental orchestra.
I hope to talk to you soon! Benjamin

I can help you write songs, from finding a melody and writing lyrics, to advanced chord progressions and the theory behind choosing what chords to use and where, how to change keys, and help you expand on your ideas. I can teach you how to copyright songs and market them. Songwriting is probably my favorite part of the musical experience.
Hi! I'm Scott. I perform with a one-man band setup I created which utilizes a modified guitar and home-made foot pedals to control a drum set, while I sing on top of it all. I have a recording studio at home, and have performed with bands as a singer, guitarist, saxophonist, bassist, percussionist, and as a sound engineer. I've written, performed and recorded my own album which made it to the 2nd round of the 52nd Annual Grammy Awards, and was a voting member of the Philadelphia Chapter of the Grammy Committee and NARAS (National Association or the Recording Arts and Sciences.) I started piano lessons from age 5 and just kept picking up more instruments and gear as I got older and never stopped learning or enjoying it!
*** Lesson Details *** I have been teaching Guitars, Basses, Percussion, Piano, Saxophone, Music Production, Re
cording, and Live Sound for 16 years.
I can teach you note-reading, tabs, ear training, music theory, composition, improvisation in just about any style of music.
Working with people writing songs is something I enjoy thoroughly; I can help you write and record your own songs. A computer and internet access are preferred to take full advantage of the technology for learning and producing music.
Knowledgeable in Instrument repair, set-up, and maintenance, I can help you fix it, and how to spot a good instrument.
Patient and experienced, with a broad knowledge of music in most areas, I can give you hundreds of good references from previous students I've taught over the years

A great song tells a story, communicates a feeling and evokes a feeling in your listener. Learn how to use the perfect combination of craft and technique without sacrificing creativity and inspiration.
Classes are geared towards musicians and songwriters with goals on working in the industry, obtaining a publishing deal and writing for established artists. Experience with an instrument and basic understanding of music theory is required.
Hi there! So you're passionate about music?
Do you want to feel more connected to what you're doing?
Are you feeling stuck and frustrated, as if you hit a plateau?
Or maybe you just have certain goals you want to reach and need someone to hold you accountable.
Do your thoughts and self-criticism hold you back?
Do you want to feel free when you sing and/or play the piano?
If any of this sounds familiar, I'm here to tell you that I understand, because I have faced these hurdles myself as an artist and have helped hundreds of people with the same problems over the past ten years of teaching.
I graduated from Musicians Institute in Vocal Performance and have been studying piano my entire life, for over 20+ years. Classically trained since the age of 4, I did a quick U-turn and headed down the path of contemporary afte
r years of private classical training. I believe in the marriage of the two worlds to have a full mind, body and soul experience with music.
PIANISTS! I created a very easy to follow approach that includes ALL components of learning piano such as sight reading, ear training and music theory. My goal is to have my students be able to approach music in ANY way they choose: to be able to read sheet music, play by ear AND eventually be able to freestyle and improvise.
SINGERS! I provide a safe space for my students to express themselves vocally. Vocals is rewarding, but challenging to train because it is A PART OF OUR BODY we cannot see, only feel. In order to be your best, you must become IN TUNE with yourself. Lessons involve training the muscular functions of your vocal cords, LISTENING to great vocalists for intriguing melodies and rhythms, UNLEARNING toxic thought patterns and OBSERVING the mind as a huge part of singing is mental.
I have taught over 200 students in person, all over Los Angeles, California since 2010. I am looking to expand online so I can reach people outside of Los Angeles. Feel free to ask questions, I am here to help. I'm looking forward to hearing you share your favorite songs with me!
I've been teaching songwriting sessions for Girls Rock Camp, the Girl Scouts and a few Youth Programs in the area. Song writing sessions is a workshop that helps my students place their words into a rhythm. This class is great for group lessons.
I started my musical path in a Ballet Studio. I fell in love with the crackle of the vinyl record playing as I learned to listen and dance with the rhythm.
I started playing the guitar when I was in elementary and took classical lessons until I was a teenager.I really enjoy the art of practice and the journey of patience. The process of learning has helped me carve out and cultivate my style of music. It's opened up a lot of doors for me in my life. I've had the honor to play with a lot of great performers and have been lucky enough to tour the U.S. and Canada with festivals and showcases such as Vans Warped Tour, South By Southwest and the Halifax Pop Explosion.I've been the opening act for Carolyn Wonderland, Maria Taylor, Tsunami Bomb, Tilly and the Wall, Basia Bulat, Rise Against, Strike Anywhere. Anathallo, Cursive, Milton Hopki
ns, and Pony Up.
When I have free time I volunteer with the Houston Chapter of Girls Rock Camp to help teach girls empowerment through songwriting and music.
*** Lesson Details *** I began teaching as an afterschool job when I was 16. I was homeschooled, so I feel that the experience taught me that everyone learns differently and that there is not just one standardized method to playing music.
My teaching style varies with each student, but the one constant is my ability to make each and every client I encounter completely fall in LOVE with music. It's my super power.
Lesson plans are tailored for your specific needs and to help you achieve your musical goals and aspirations at your desired pace. I enjoy my students and making music with them.
Here is an overview of the lessons that I provide.
I have extensive experience writing with some of the best songwriters on music row, and my songs have been featured in American Songwriter Magazine. I co-write and perform weekly in Nashville, and love to share what I have learned with developing songwriters!
If a student is interested in working on both their voice and their songwriting skills, lessons can be designed to incorporate both. I address form, lyric writing techniques, melody enhancement, and commercial appeal when teaching songwriting lessons. Students will learn the fundamentals and will bring in songs for critique!
Many of my students also study to learn basic guitar and/or piano with me, with an aim to accompany themselves on their original songs. We also have a home recording studio, which is available at a discounted cost to students interested in recording demos of their songs!
Brittany offers private lessons in commercial and/or classical voice, songwriting, music theory, and ear training. She graduated the commercial music program at Belmont University with a focus on voice, songwriting, and music business in 2013.
Brittany brings a unique skill set to the table, having studied and performed a range of musical styles with hands on experience in Nashville's music industry. Brittany frequently writes on Music Row with professional songwriters, is a demo singer in professional recording studios, and performs with her special event band, The Golden Band.
Brittany has years of paid, professional experience as a singer in several different settings, so her ability to relate to any student and help them truly understand and achieve their goals is notable. Brittany has performed as a solo artist in restaurants
and other public venues, singing country and pop music; she has also performed as a soloist in classical settings, as part of a duo in a wedding band, as a member of several choirs and ensembles, including a capella groups; she has also been cast in several lead roles and ensemble roles in countless musicals.
For the same price as your average voice lesson, you will gain so much more knowledge in the field of music while you sharpen your skills with Brittany! Each student is different, so Brittany clearly identifies each student's specific goals and designs a unique lesson plan to achieve them.
Brittany has been so sweet and all around amazing and very patient she has been a great first teacher and I’m so glad to have her as my teacher

Was skeptical at first but that was quickly turned around. My daughter absolutely loved Brittany and I could see they hit if off from the beginning. The instructor was polite, friendly, very encouraging, and motivating. I was thinking this would be a short term deal for a life experience as a birthday present to my daughter but I see now that I may be in this long term! We're all excited for the next session.

Brittany is absolutely fantastic with my 13 year old daughter who has never had any vocal training before. We are five lesson in, and from day one, you could tell Brittany really knows her stuff. We have seen fantastic progress in such a short time. Brittany's knowledge, patience, enthusiasm, and own personal talent shine through. My daughter looks forward to each and every lesson. We were lucky to find Brittany and I highly recommend her.

I've been working with Trevor for just over a year. His teaching goes beyond just dry technique and theory to answer the question "why am I doing this?" When you work with Trevor, there is purpose behind everything you do. He starts with your big picture goals and breaks them down into actionable steps that you can take feeling like it's going somewhere. This makes for way more efficient and exciting practice sessions. If you don't know exactly where you want to go with your playing, Trevor will help you find that as well.

Trevor is an amazing teacher! He works with you to make a plan to learn whatever interests you. I can bring in any kind of music or style of playing and he will help me learn all of the elements.
