I signed up for voice lessons with Zelda because, as an experienced singer, I was in a rut and needed a refresh. The technical aspects of lessons, like the warm-ups and the voice measurement have been fun and helpful and the coaching for goals I can set and homework I can do are exactly what I need!

Kept missing class without any heads up so I had to just wait around and hope he'll show up, ignored my calls and messages to reschedule, so I had to just get a refund from TakeLessons. As a teacher he is good, but very unprofessional behavior in terms of accountability and respect for students' time.

I’m a super beginner. So far so good! He starts from the beginning and doesn’t make you feel dumb.

Evan was a great Bass teacher. I had fun every lesson and got significantly better at the instrument.

My approach to songwriting is through a process called Kaizen. Kaizen is a philosophy of constant improvement, one step at a time.

I believe that to write their best songs one must live their best life.

My lessons are very catered to the student's needs. I can teach the theory and techniques of song structure, lyric, melody, harmony, rhythm, groove, sound selection, music production, vocal intonation, audio recording, and music production. I can also speak conceptually to help deepen concept, improve cohesiveness, or simply advise on inspiration and creativity.

I specialize in Electronic (EDM), Pop, Indie, and Hip-Hop.

About Daniel

My first session with Dan was great! He asked a lot of questions to determine my level of experience/goals; then we dived right into the lesson. He’s also provided homework assigments that I’ve been able to work on straight away.

Dan is a really insightful instructor. He really knows Ableton in-and-out with his eyes closed. He also has a good ear and is able to help you get the sound that you want. He gives really good feedback on projects that you might be working on. He is really well-versed in all aspects of music production - not only in sound design and mixing but also in songwriting and also can talk about difficult topics like inspiration and creativity in a unique way. If you're serious about music production, I would certainly recommend taking lessons with Dan.

"Jan is wonderful to work with!

I worked with Jan thru skype while living in Australia on my songwriting and singing, she is a joy to work with really caring and helped me challenge myself to become a better songwriter. There were even days I woke up at 4am Australian time just to work with her! The whole experience was great! I then had the pleasure to work with her in person to record some of the songs we had been working on as I traveled to LA for a few weeks. Her techniques really helped me bring out certain emotions and I can't express how much I enjoy working with Jan."

Songwriting Tips: How to Write Lyrics To Your First Song

Are  you learning to play guitar because you want to be able to write your own songs? Guitar teacher Samuel B. shares some tips to help you write lyrics to your first song... You don't need to be Bob Dylan or Bernie Taupin to do it – you only need to have something to say. I first began writing lyrics as teenag …
