From the first lesson, our son (11) was excited and engaged! He even play his trumpet for fun !
As a parent, I am pleased with the balanced instruction/practice ratio that has instilled responsibility and dedication without being overwhelming and frustrating.
Jarrod teaches at a student's pace, while adding just the right amount of challenge, allowing confidence to grow in a well organized, fun and personalized instruction plan.
What I like most is; Jarrod loves music and teaching! He addresses success and challenges with enthusiasm, support and encouragement, equally.

This means I focus on the ideas of time, vocabulary & dynamic playings, but within this still teaching essential technical exercises in order to create a well-rounded musician.
After each lesson I will email detailed notes, as well as any supplemental documents and/or music.

I offer 24 years of experience playing, and 17 years teaching privately and as a public school band director. My curriculum focuses on technique, theory, style, and interpretation.
To develop quality drumming technique, an emphasis on playing position, grip, and sticking is incorporated in each portion of a given lesson.
The importance of theory and rudiments is outlined and taught with each lesson. A challenging assignment to improve technical ability and music theory knowledge directly correlated to the assigned repertoire will help students understand the structure of the music they are practicing.
Students will dedicate practice time to both rudimental drumming and set drumming. Demonstrating the highest level of performance and knowledge of a piece is the desired result. A portion of each lesson is also dedicated to students learning the various styles on the drum set.
If you are up for a challenging and fun workout on the drums, hit me up for lessons!

I'm happy I chose to take drum lessons with Gabriel."

I whole-heartedly agree! He jumped right in, asked some great questions and quickly deduced Jonathan's skill level.
He was able to give him something tough enough to really challenge Jonathan, but still within his range to be able to do..
Great!"

No additional explanation is needed, just superb👍"

On top of building the physical mechanics and techniques to become a drummer, Rob put even more emphasis on how I internalized, felt, and heard the music. Each lesson focus was equally weighted with theory, practical use, real-time listening, and execution - developing all my senses and slowly building my foundation so I could take the material and know how to grow upon it outside of the lesson room.
Lessons with Rob is more than learning a cool fill, or a fun groove - even though those do happen - but it is learning how to become a musician, and I'll carry the lessons learned from him with me forever."
