Students in this subject can study a variety of components related music theory and/or songwriting. Students can expect to learn the fundamentals of music theory and how it works, and if interested how to incorporate this knowledge into their own songs or musical interests.

Music theory and songwriting covers a broad range of music disciplines and students can expect to learn how to analyze their favorite songs, learn how to construct beats if they are interested in music programming, or even further their understanding into the worlds of classical and jazz studies.

Students will be expected to supply their own instruments, equipment and materials in instances where they would like to relate their music theory study to a specific instrument. They must also bring a notebook to write down songs they are interested in and/or artists and groups they would like to study. Students interested in classical or jazz study will need to purchase specific books and materials at the teachers ...

Everything went well until we decided to do in home classes. After we paId him upfront he canceled a couple of time then he rescheduled a virtual class where he never showed up, we texted him and 20 minutes later he sent a text letting us know he was too busy And couldn’t continue teaching my daughter. We asked for the refund which we haven’t received yet. He is a good teacher just very unprofessional. we didn’t lose that much money but he hurt my daughter since she looking forward to learn from him. I wouldn’t recommend him.

First lesson was great. It took a little time setting up and getting to know each other. For a first lesson, I came away with some very useful information on a song I was having a problem with. I like the direction it is going. Looking forward to the next lesson.

Songwriting is my personal favorite way to work with music. It allows us to highlight what is unique and interesting about our individual voices and stories. Theory and technique can help, but no amount of either necessary for songwriting, nor will any amount of either automatically result in good songs. It's all about honing in on a creative vision.

I am always excited to students with this fun and potent aspect of the musical life. I respect the courage it requires to take this step, and I carefully avoid offering guidance that is overbearing or discouraging. What I will offer is a lot of experience, having written countless songs of my own over the years and also studied and taught virtually every style of song for all the masters. This gives me a wide array of tools, tips, and strategies, along with sincere feedback and encouragement. I hope you'll give it a try!

"Technology today is incredible. I'm in Norway, Fawn is in Los Angeles. Where else could I find a quality teacher with a couple of hit songs help me at my craft? If it weren't for the internet I would have never found such a talented songwriter to help me tighten my songs. I love, love, LOVE the time I spend with Fawn hashing out my songs to record with my band in the studio. She is so gifted, easy going, precise and fun. She really respects keeping the integrity and emotions of my songs and is good at keeping people open to changes that are necessary to make a mediocre song great."

"I'm not being hyperbolic when I write that Kelly is one of the finest teachers I've ever had. I'm a singer-songwriter with unlimited drive, but frustratingly limited musical skills, and Kelly has been able to teach me theory and any number of other related skills such that I've made great progress. She is very patient, extremely musical, and has great taste, which sure doesn't hurt!"

"Working with Fawn on my songs the past 3 years has been a complete blessing. What used to be disorganized thoughts have been turned into lyrics and songs. I never thought I'd see the day when my songs would be ready to be recorded in a studio. Also, it's cool to be working with a coach who is current. (She just won for the Great America Song Contest last month). With all the awards she has won and career success she's had, she is still humble and really cares about her students progress and own careers.
